The hotel's location is excellent, being right in the centre of town and next to Elvet Bridge. This makes it convenient for exploring all the sights and enjoying the bars in the square. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, with clean bathrooms and friendly service. The breakfast offers a good variety of well-cooked food, and there are facilities like a pool and sauna for guests to enjoy. the hotel provides a comfortable stay in a central location.

One downside is that some rooms on lower floors may experience noise from the live band playing in the pub downstairs, which could be an issue for those seeking a peaceful night's sleep.

I had a wonderful stay at this luxurious hotel in Durham. The location couldn't have been better, as it was right in the centre of the town close to everything. I loved being able to explore Durham, especially at night, and the view of the Castle and Cathedral from my window was breathtaking. The staff at this hotel were exceptional, from reception to the room cleaners. They provided excellent service and were very friendly, especially one particular staff member named Hazel who was lovely to my two little boys. The rooms were comfortable and clean, with all the necessary amenities like heating, air conditioning, and tea/coffee facilities. The hotel also offered great additional services like room service, car hire, and dry cleaning.

Although the hotel was amazing overall, I did have a minor issue with the room allocation. The staff refused my request to have our two rooms close to each other, and instead, my parents were given a room that was quite far away from reception on the third floor.
