The location couldn't be better. It's right in the centre, close to main attractions and the new popular shopping area. The staff is friendly and the rooms are comfortable, with all facilities like hairdryer, shampoo and soap available. Breakfast has various options and the coffee and tea are good too. The rooms are clean and have easy wifi access.

Be prepared for quite a lot of stairs to get up to the main level.

The breakfast was delicious, especially the black pudding and Scottish tatties. I must commend the host, Murray, for his exceptional hospitality and extensive knowledge of Edinburgh. He made my staycation perfect by serving as a front of house, tourist guide, and educator. I also appreciated the convenience of the nearby bus station and local bus stops. I highly recommend this guest house for its excellent location, comfortable accommodations, and the outstanding service provided by Murray.

Although my stay was nearly flawless, I did find it challenging to get used to some traditional aspects of the guest house. The sink in the bathroom had separate hot and cold faucets, making it difficult to find the perfect water temperature.

The value for money at this guest house was excellent, with a clean and warm room. The location was perfect, just a short walk to both the train station and the Playhouse theatre. The staff were incredibly friendly, professional, and helpful, making my stay even more enjoyable.

As youngsters, we loved the spacious and comfortable rooms at Database Murray. The bathroom was clean and the shower had great water pressure. The noise from the street outside was a significant downside as it often disturbed our sleep throughout the night. the cleaning staff seemed to have missed a few spots in the room, which made it look like they didn't do a thorough job.
