Quirky vibes, excellent service, and fun pub nearby.

i had the misfortune of staying in a freezing room with no heating, which is somehow acceptable here? and let's not ignore the breathtakingly small double room where getting out of bed required a full-on team effort. i would’ve thought such basic amenities like warmth would be a given, but apparently not. almost gave a good review but just couldn't.

Room sizes could use improvement!!! The small space can feel cramped, especially for larger groups!!! Noise insulation is lacking, with sounds from the bar disturbing sleep!!! Accessing rooms can be a confusing maze!!!

During my stay, I found the cleanliness of the hotel to be quite lacking. there were peeling paint and non-functional electrical plugs that made me uncomfortable. The layout of the hotel is a literal maze, which left me feeling uneasy, especially in the event of an emergency.

However, accessing some rooms involves navigating a narrow staircase, which may be tricky for those with mobility challenges.

The Grassmarket Hotel provided an enchanting stay with its quirky comic book decor, perfect location right by Edinburgh Castle, and a scrumptious breakfast in the adjoining pub. Truly delightful!

Great location for exploring the vibrant city bars and eateries staff was friendly biscuits in the room were a nice touch breakfast in the adjoining bar was very good.

the location was ideal for walking to major sites, making our explorations hassle-free. staff were super friendly and attentive, even changing our room when we had an issue. the breakfast at the pub was a great value, too (only ten quid)!

the grassmarket hotel is in a fantastic location, just a short walk to all the main sights. my cozy single room was perfect for a solo traveler, with a clean and modern shower room. the friendly ladies at the desk made my stay even better, and the option to hold my bags after checking out was super helpful.

The quirky comic book decor and complimentary marshmallow teacakes made my stay delightful. Although the layout of the hotel was a bit confusing, the close proximity to nightlife and attractions really enhanced my experience.
