I was pleasantly surprised by the beautiful decor and furnishings at Grays Court. The reception rooms, bar, and breakfast room were all wonderfully designed. My room, Elizabeth Gray, may have been small compared to what I expected, but it had a comfortable bed and lovely soft furnishings. The breakfast served in the stunning breakfast room was really great. The waiting staff and the entertaining bar man were all friendly and provided excellent service.

We were impressed with the well-cared-for historical property and the warm welcome we received at reception. The hotel is centrally located within the old city walls, next to beautiful gardens and the iconic York Minster. The room was clean, light, and tastefully decorated, and the bed was the most comfortable we've ever had in a hotel. We particularly enjoyed the late-night drinks in the lovely garden, which provided a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere. The highlight of our stay was the breakfast, prepared by a talented chef. It was, without a doubt, the best breakfast we've ever had in a hotel.

We would have loved to stay for the evening meal, but unfortunately, we didn't have the opportunity. However, we would highly recommend this place to friends and family for its luxurious ambiance, comfortable rooms, and top-notch service.

The restaurant and bar/lounge area were also delightful, with a great selection of food and drinks to choose from. We also appreciated the special attention to detail, such as the homemade cookies and the high-quality toiletries provided in the room. this place exceeded our expectations and we would highly recommend it.

The breakfasts were excellent, and they were able to accommodate specific dietary needs. The rooms are luxurious, with private bathrooms and amazing features like deep copper tubs and large showers. a perfect location and a great place for families with children.

Lovely Xmas break with great hospitality. Room had a stunning view and was very spacious with a contemporary bathroom. the location was perfect for exploring the city, and the staff was friendly and helpful. Enjoyed the delicious food at the restaurant, especially the eggs benedict for breakfast.

Limited choice for food, and some confusion with the wine list. Although the hotel had a great historic feel, the rustic wardrobe was not very functional.

We booked 4 rooms for a family birthday celebration at Grays Court and were thrilled with our stay. The location is stunning, nestled under the Minster within the City walls. The building itself is fascinating, with a rich history and beautiful garden. The rooms were spotlessly clean and comfortable. The communal areas, like the bar and library, were superb. The staff were welcoming and helpful, and the breakfast was excellent.

I stayed at Grays Court for a weekend getaway and it was perfect. The location in the heart of the old city was superb, and the room was surprisingly quiet. The staff, especially the receptionist and the waitress in the dining room, were lovely and attentive. The pre-dinner snack on the evening tasting menu was absolutely delicious, and I loved that breakfast was cooked to order. The homemade scones that were provided on arrival were excellent, and the historic and comfortable public rooms were a nice touch. Having a tray with tea and coffee in the room was a bonus.
