highfield in keswick was a fantastic stay. the complimentary afternoon cake and coffee was a delightful surprise. the staff were helpful and attentive, and the cumbrian breakfast was delicious. the location was perfect, close to town but peaceful.

I recently stayed at a charming hotel in the beautiful town of Keswick. The location was perfect, within walking distance to both Derwentwater lake and the high street. My second-floor room had a lovely view overlooking the golf course and the lake, which was a great way to start the day. The comfortable double bed and modern bathroom with a strong hot shower added to the comfort of my stay. The highlight, however, was the delicious cooked breakfast. I would definitely recommend this hotel for a pleasant stay in Keswick.

The hotel had two single rooms available, which was perfect for my needs. The building had a traditional Lakeland charm and the staff were welcoming and helpful. The restaurant was top-notch and had recently received an award. The wine list was surprisingly extensive. I also appreciated the fantastic views from the hotel, with stunning vistas of Borrowdale from the front and Skiddaw from the rear. The hotel was definitely worth revisiting, and at just £90 for dinner, bed, and breakfast, it was great value for money.

There were a few downsides to my stay. the bathroom sash window frame was in need of maintenance, as it had big gaps and rattled loudly due to high winds.

The hotel is in a fantastic location, just a short walk from the centre of town and with stunning views down the Borrowdale valley. The rooms are comfortable and offer lovely views of the lake. The bathroom is reasonably large for a boutique hotel and the hot powerful shower was a welcome bonus. The breakfast, served with a backdrop of stunning views, was substantial and set us up for the day.

The mattress was too soft and uncomfortable, and our pillows felt flat. The steep stairs leading to the rooms were tiring after a long day of walking.
