The Castle Inn is located in a gorgeous area, close to everything and near the castle, which was a nice visit. The rooms are lovely, with a great functional bathroom that includes a walk-in shower. The attention to detail, from the comfortable bed to the wildlife crawling about in the walls, is commendable. The staff is friendly and the breakfast, with good food, is a great way to start the day.

The only minor detail to note was that breakfast did not include any hot food, such as a bacon sandwich or a bowl of cornflakes.

We had a wonderful stay at The Castle Inn. The warm and friendly welcome from Megan set the tone for our visit. Our room, the Bamburgh, was cozy and full of charm, with exposed beams and a Union Jack bed head. The en-suite had a beautiful roll top bath and a great shower. The restaurant downstairs had a lovely atmosphere, and the food was excellent, especially for vegetarians. Adam, the manager, was friendly and helpful, suggesting local places of interest. We cannot rate this hotel highly enough and will definitely visit again!

There were a few issues during my stay, such as cobwebs on the oak beams in the room and old tea lights left by a previous occupant in the bathroom. Additionally, I was charged an extra fee for a late check-out, even though I was only a few minutes past the standard check-out time.

The value for money at this hotel is exceptional. The prices are very reasonable for the quality of service and facilities provided. The attention to detail is evident throughout, from the beautiful decor in the rooms to the friendly and helpful staff. The location, situated on a roundabout about 5 miles from a bustling coffee shop, is perfect for exploring the castle ruins and taking a stroll along the former railway track to Wetherby. And let's not forget the rooms themselves, with their equal facilities and the added luxury of a huge free-standing bath. It was such a treat to relax in the bath with the window open, enjoying the fresh air. A truly memorable experience.

The room was clean and modern, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The selection of drinks at the pub/restaurant was impressive. We also enjoyed the Sunday lunch, all three courses were well cooked and tasty. It was great that the staff went above and beyond to accommodate a birthday party and christening.

The morning staff and breakfast experience was not up to par. We arrived at 9:35 for breakfast, and despite breakfast being served until 10, the staff told us they were tidying up in five minutes.
