As trekkers and a group of friends, we loved the peaceful location and the opportunity to take a lovely walk around the nearby lake. The owners were extremely friendly and helpful, making our stay even more enjoyable.

The grounds were beautiful, with a private lake and peaceful meadow. Coates served as a good base for exploring, with local amenities like a pub and takeaway.

The rooms at Highfields were lovely and spacious, with comfortable beds and nice bathrooms. The owners went above and beyond to make us feel at home, even helping us with family photos before our wedding. The price per night was brilliant and the surrounding fishing lakes were a great find. The staff also ensured the room was warm when we returned late at night and served breakfast early on Sunday.

We enjoyed lovely walks around the nearby lake and the surrounding area was just beautiful. the owner was incredibly friendly and went out of their way to ensure we had a comfortable stay. the room was spotlessly clean and the bed was really comfortable, ensuring a good night's sleep.

One minor issue was that there seemed to be a lack of communication upon our arrival. We had a little trouble finding the check-in area and had to wait for the owner to come and assist us.

Guests have praised the thoughtfully designed Shepherds Hut and the beautiful surroundings. The hosts are extremely helpful and go above and beyond to ensure a pleasant stay. The bed, although slightly soft, is still very comfortable and the entire property is impeccably clean. Guests have also appreciated the fast electronic cooker and the warm welcome from the friendly cat.

The lack of wifi and phone signal may pose an inconvenience for guests who need to stay connected.

We had a peaceful and relaxing stay by the beach. The owners were friendly and accommodating, even going out of their way to provide a vegan breakfast. The rooms were furnished to a high standard and the bathrooms were clean and well-maintained. The continental breakfast had a good variety of options and the coffee was delicious. there were lovely walks around the lake just minutes away from the location.

That there were limited dining options within walking distance, but there was a great curry house just a short drive away.

Incredibly impressed with the quality of Highfields Holidays. The room was amazing and the entire property was well-maintained. It was evident that the owners had put a lot of effort into making this place perfect. The cleanliness was outstanding, both in the room and the bathroom. The continental breakfast was abundant and of high quality. I only stayed for one night but will definitely be coming back for a longer stay. Bravo to the owners for creating such a fantastic place.

We received a warm welcome from the staff at this hotel, who were incredibly helpful throughout our stay. The room was beautiful and immaculately clean, with a very comfortable bed. The hotel facilities were great, with secure parking on site. We loved that this hotel is located in a lovely quiet area, just twenty minutes from the city center. Additionally, the breakfast provided was first class, with a wide selection of fresh and quality products.

Stayed here for a few nights and what an amazing couple Peter and Anita were. Made me feel very welcome. Such beautiful people. Continental breakfast was delicious. Room was amazing. And there is a fishing lake just a short walk away, and what an amazing place this was to sit and watch the sun set and the rising moon. Lovely walk around the lake too. Certainly somewhere I would stay again.
