The location of the hotel is conveniently right next to the train line, making it easy to explore the surrounding area. Although the outside of the building may not be welcoming, once inside, everything was excellent. The rooms were clean and spacious, with comfortable beds. The bathrooms were well-fitted and spacious as well. The service provided by the host was friendly and accommodating. The breakfast offered a wide variety of options, including cereals, toast, croissants, cheese, ham. Guests could help themselves to as much as they wanted.

The lack of UHT milk "shots" in the room for tea and coffee, which would have been a nice addition to the provided facilities.

The Honeysuckle Homestead is a hidden gem! Outside of the building, it may not look that welcoming, but once inside, everything was excellent. The comfortable and spacious rooms provided a great night's sleep. The bathroom facilities were clean and well-maintained. The friendly service and excellent communication in advance made me feel welcome. The breakfast selection was delicious, with a variety of healthy options. the location is perfect for like-minded people who wish to explore historic buildings in the nearby lovely village or visit the Chalk Valley History Fair. Nature enthusiasts will also enjoy the nearby nature reserve.
