Landguard Lodge was a spot, on starting point for my culinary escapades, with epic steaks near Retro Burger and delicious Greek fare at Santorini Traditional Greek. Add to that, the warm welcome and spacious, clean rooms were a delight.

We paid a hefty £120, but for last, minute plans, a fairer £60 , £70 would've hit the spot. Despite a slight OAP home aroma and weak shower power, the overall experience glimmered with Southampton charm.

Great value traditional cooked breakfast, spacious spotless rooms, friendly owner, quiet location.

So many outdoor activities to enjoy, like cycling. Free WiFi and concierge services, what a luxury! And don't forget the continental breakfast, a true feast. Truly, I couldn't ask for more.

The location of the guest house was extremely convenient, being just a short walk away from both the train station and the town centre. The room I stayed in was spacious and had everything I needed, including a comfortable bed, ensuite bathroom, and tea/coffee facilities. The owner was very welcoming and helpful, making my stay even more enjoyable. it was a pleasant experience.

Although the room was well-equipped, it would have been nice to have a fan provided, especially during the hot weather.
