we had a wonderful time at Mary Tavy Inn. the rooms were quiet and well-equipped, with a comfy bed and nice shower. the staff were welcoming and the food, especially the breakfast scrambled eggs with salmon, was delicious. the location is perfect for exploring Dartmoor National Park, and we felt like we were staying with family. definitely a home away from home.

We were pleasantly surprised by the beautiful views of the countryside from our room. The accommodation was clean, tidy, and provided a cozy and private escape. The staff and owners of the inn were warm, friendly, and went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. The food at the restaurant was exceptional, and we enjoyed delicious meals for both breakfast and dinner. Additionally, the location was ideal, being a great base to explore both Cornwall and Devon, as well as being right on the doorstep of Dartmoor National Park. We particularly loved having drinks in the inn's garden, which provided a peaceful atmosphere overlooking the stunning Dartmoor landscape.

Despite confirming in advance that we had reserved a specific room with a countryside view, we were given a smaller room without a view upon arrival. The manager's lack of concern and dismissive attitude towards this mistake was rather disappointing.

We stumbled upon this gem of a hotel in a peaceful setting in Cornwall. Situated near the road but with no noise in the room, our stay in the Brentor room was delightful. The spacious room boasted a comfortable bed with crisp bedding and stunning views. The service was attentive and professional, and we enjoyed relaxing in the garden overlooking Dartmoor with a drink. The garlic and cream sauce on our evening meal and the perfectly cooked breakfast the next morning were highlights of our stay.
