Room 1657 was a highlight with its historic charm and a very comfortable four-poster bed. The hotel staff were welcoming and provided excellent service during our stay. However, the bathroom could use a stand-up shower option instead of just a handheld showerhead in the bathtub. Great for a romantic getaway or an anniversary celebration.

The breakfast service was also disappointing. despite placing our orders the day before, we ended up waiting excessively to be served.

Wow, the food was a standout! I had the most delightful sushi that was fresh and bursting with flavor! Also, the breakfast options were fantastic—four different breakfasts to choose from, all brilliant! Plus, the hotel's charming public areas and loving character made my stay memorable.

On a cheeky note, my bag was left at reception despite assurances. Thankfully, I checked it myself! Also, no one mentioned that breakfast closed at 9:30. I was lucky a friend noticed! The bed sagged on one side, which made for an uncomfortable sleep. And a zero cancellation policy is a bummer, especially after they called me a week ahead to remind me when it felt unnecessary.

The location of the hotel is fantastic, right on the High Street with easy access to charming shops and local attractions. Our room was spacious with lovely windows letting in natural light, making it a bright and inviting space. The restaurant offered excellent dinner options and a diverse breakfast selection, including fruit, cereals, and yogurt.

Navigating the hotel's layout can be challenging due to stairs and narrow hallways.

Massive bathroom, breakfast was copious and tasty.

the breakfast was decent, but, how hard is it to let guests know when it closes? i was shocked when my bag was left unattended at the reception, really poor service. i expected a complimentary gesture for all my trouble but was left with just excuses. absoluteley underwhelming experience, honestly could’ve given a good review, just couldn’t.

Best brekkie I've had in ages! The full English was a proper jol, and they even did hot food to order—how refreshing! The bar area is super gezellig, and I loved that scone with cream tea by the fire. Staff were proper friendly, felt right at home, you know?
