We recently stayed at Rickerby Grange for a few days and it was absolutely fantastic. The hotel had amazing views and the decor was clean, modern, and full of character. We loved that it was a short walk to local walking paths and had easy access to hotel/pub restaurants while still feeling secluded. The added bonus of having Netflix on the TV and reliable Wi-Fi made our stay even more enjoyable. They really thought of everything, from coffee and tea refills to communal ironing facilities. The staff were incredibly friendly and kind, making us feel right at home. We can't wait to come back to this amazing, affordable luxury.

The location of the hotel is perfect, with an easy 15-minute scenic walk into town and it's situated in Portinscale, which is right on the Derwentwater Lake circuit. This makes it an ideal spot for walking enthusiasts and those who want to explore the beautiful surroundings. there is a lovely pub nearby and it's a dog-friendly establishment, which is a bonus if you're traveling with your furry friend.

The noise from the squeaky floorboards in the room above can be quite bothersome and disrupt a good night's sleep.

The location of the hotel was ideal, with ample parking available, so I didn't have to worry about finding a spot in the bustling center. The garden was a delightful spot to relax and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. being close to the lakeside allowed for picturesque strolls and breathtaking views. The room I stayed in was newly refurbished, with lovely color tones and quality furniture. The bathroom was spacious and the shower was excellent. The staff were friendly and the breakfast served in a pleasant and spacious room was delicious.

That there was some noise from other rooms, which could have been improved with better soundproofing.

Having visited the Lake District for about 30 years, we are always on the lookout for a comfortable base from which to explore the area. This hotel, tucked away in the tranquil countryside, provided just that. The room we stayed in was clean and tidy with its own entrance and parking space. The breakfast was delicious and the staff were friendly and helpful. The location was perfect for our hiking adventures and we were able to easily reach the nearby lakes and enjoy the stunning views.

The only thing we didn't like was that the white curtains in our room did not keep out the early morning light, causing us to wake up earlier than desired.

What a fantastic stay! We couldn't have asked for more from this luxurious hotel. The rooms are newly renovated to a very high standard, with lovely powerful showers to refresh after a long walk. The seamless contactless check-in procedure and great communication from the staff made us feel well taken care of. The hotel is situated in a lovely peaceful area, making it the perfect retreat. We enjoyed the picturesque 15-minute walk into the village, where we were able to catch a bus to continue our walking holiday the next day. The beautiful view from the rooms and ample off-street parking were additional perks that added to our comfort and convenience. The service and housekeeping were excellent, and the room amenities such as the ironing facilities and tea and coffee facilities ensured that we had everything we needed for a relaxing stay. The free Wi-Fi in the rooms and flat-screen TV in the cozy sitting area were also nice touches.

The shower in my room was very powerful and perfect for washing off all the dirt after a day of exploring the fells. the full English breakfast I had on the second morning was delicious and had a good variety of options. the location of the hotel was great, within walking distance of a pub and the beautiful shores of Derwent Water.

The duvet in my room was not in the best condition with large lumps throughout. the shower tray was quite slippery and could have benefited from a non-slip mat.
