On an impromptu stopover on the way home, I stumbled upon a lovely hotel in the center of town. It was close to many places of interest, including a fantastic abbey and a picturesque Avon bank-side. The room was spacious and comfortable, with a good TV for entertainment. The service was top-notch, with friendly and helpful staff who went above and beyond. Breakfast was delicious, and the rear garden looked like the perfect spot to relax in the summer.

The bathroom could use some improvement, as it felt a bit dingy and the extractor fan was a bit whiny.

I stayed at The Abbey Hotel for a short weekend getaway. The facilities, although a bit tired, were kept very clean, and the recently renovated bathroom was a pleasant surprise. I loved the packed breakfast they provided, it was excellent. The beds were incredibly comfortable, and I appreciated the tea, coffee, and biscuits that were provided. The breakfast options were plentiful, with a great variety, including gluten free bread. The location couldn't have been better, right across from the abbey, and within walking distance of plenty of shops.

Great choice of nearby restaurants for dining in the evening. Conveniently located just opposite the beautiful Tewkesbury Abbey. The hosts were lovely and accommodating, making our stay enjoyable. The room was spacious and quiet, with comfortable beds. Parking was not an issue. The breakfast, although a carry away, was compensated for with a deduction from the bill.

I was amazed by the charm and history of this centuries-old hotel. And despite its age, they have managed to make it comfortable and equipped with modern amenities. The heated towel racks and well-thought-out power and light switches were a pleasant surprise. The Priory Bar provided a cozy atmosphere with its ivy-covered windows. The location couldn't have been better, perfect for exploring the old town and enjoying scenic walks in the hills. The exceptional breakfast buffet and delicious dinner were definite highlights. Although parking was a bit of an issue, the staff provided helpful assistance. I highly recommend this hotel for its unique character and great location.

The room had a slight musky smell in the corridor, but it didn't affect the cleanliness of the room. the lack of a bar was slightly disappointing.
