We had a delightful stay at The Auld Kirk in Ballater. Helen, the host, was amazing and made our experience memorable. The freshly baked scones, cakes, and pancakes for breakfast were a highlight, and Lisa provided excellent table service. We appreciated the little touches like the local whiskey in our room and the birthday prosecco. Helen's recommendations for local restaurants and wildlife were spot-on. We thoroughly enjoyed our time here.

We absolutely loved this hotel! The location was perfect, situated on a quiet street but still within easy reach of a selection of places to eat. The service was exceptional, with the staff going above and beyond to ensure our comfort and satisfaction. The room was beautifully appointed with all the necessary amenities, including ironing facilities and tea/coffee making facilities. We enjoyed the sitting area and the terrace, where we could relax and take in the surroundings. The free Wi-Fi in the rooms was a great bonus, allowing us to stay connected throughout our stay. The garden furniture added a nice touch, providing a lovely spot to unwind and enjoy the outdoors. The hotel also provided free toiletries, which were of high quality and greatly appreciated. the service, location, and amenities provided by this hotel were top-notch.

I also had the pleasure of receiving a complimentary welcome gift, giving me a taste of the local culture. The owners were incredibly helpful, providing insider information on local attractions that made my visit even more enjoyable. I even had the amazing experience of picnicking with three stags, thanks to their recommendations. The only minor inconvenience was having to carry my bags up a flight of stairs to reach my room. I highly recommend Auld Kirk for its unique charm, friendly atmosphere, and exceptional service.

The breakfast was phenomenal, with a wide variety of high-quality ingredients and delicious coffee. the homemade baked goods, fresh fruit, and cereals were beautifully presented at our table. Additionally, the hotel was clean, pet-free, and decorated to a high standard. the newly refurbished bathroom was spotless and the staff were welcoming and friendly. We also enjoyed the quirky atmosphere of the building. Furthermore, there was a great restaurant nearby and a lovely walking path along the river just around the corner.

If you stay in a room facing the road, it can be a little noisy, but it wasn't a big issue for us since we were usually out exploring in the morning.

My recent stay at a charming B&B was truly delightful. The cozy ambiance of the room made for a great night's sleep, and the luxurious bathroom added a touch of glitz. I especially appreciated having my own wash basin, eliminating any need for sharing. The freshly made breakfast was a treat and exceeded my expectations.

The only minor downside was the occasional road noise, but it was hardly noticeable as the traffic in the area was almost non-existent. Additionally, the lack of reliable WiFi in the rooms was a bit disappointing, considering the price I paid for the stay.

The value for money at Auld Kirk was excellent, with a well-equipped, cozy family room. The location was convenient, close to restaurants and pubs, and served as a great base for exploring the Cairngorms National Park. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, making our stay even more enjoyable.

The breakfast offerings could have been improved by offering a wider range of options. Additionally, it would have been great if breakfast was available for a longer period of time, as the current 9-10am timing was a bit restrictive.
