Super friendly staff and delicious homemade food were the highlights of our stay at this lovely traditional hotel. We enjoyed a comfortable and spacious family room, perfect for our tired children. the location was great, with beautiful nearby countryside for long walks. the full English breakfast set us up for the day before continuing our journey.

The furniture in our room was a bit too big, making it feel slightly cramped and lacking space for our suitcases. the room was right next to the railway line and above the bar, making it noisy and difficult to sleep.

I recently stayed at a charming hotel in the countryside, surrounded by beautiful rural landscapes. The staff were incredibly friendly and went above and beyond to make my stay enjoyable. The rooms were spotless, spacious, and surprisingly quiet, ensuring a peaceful night's sleep. I was impressed with the basic amenities provided, and the decent-sized shower in the bathroom was a pleasant surprise. Breakfast was a highlight, as the full English option was absolutely delicious and served in a lovely restaurant area. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the area.

We also enjoyed the excellent selection of drinks at the bar and had a lovely meal in the restaurant. The location was perfect for us, as it was right next to the train line, which was a great bonus for train spotting enthusiasts like my sons. Additionally, the WiFi signal in the room was excellent, ensuring we could stay connected throughout our stay.

I appreciated the safe car park and the abundance of seating areas outside. the location was ideal for those seeking a peaceful getaway, away from the hustle and bustle. I also enjoyed the range of real ales available at the hotel's inn.

Not obvious to find

I was pleasantly surprised by the warm welcome I received at Beacon & Railway. The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating, making me feel right at home. The room I stayed in was spacious and comfortable, providing everything I needed for a relaxing stay. The menu at the restaurant was varied and the food was delicious. Despite some noise from the nearby railway, it didn't disturb me too much and I was still able to get a decent night's sleep. I would definitely recommend Beacon & Railway for a pleasant and enjoyable stay.

The Beacon & Railway Hotel in Haresfield near Gloucester offers excellent value for money. The prices are reasonable, especially considering the attention to detail and the friendly service provided by the staff. The hotel is located in a charming village, making it a peaceful and picturesque setting for a getaway. The basic amenities are sufficient, and despite the slightly smaller rooms, the bunk beds are comfortable with creeking-free frames. Each child even gets their own TV, which is a nice touch. The breakfast options are varied and satisfying, catering to different dietary preferences.

As a budget traveler, I recently stayed at a charming pub/hotel near a railway line. The location was ideal for exploring the picturesque countryside and it offered good value for money. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful, providing top-notch customer service. The rooms were clean and comfortable, with spacious bathrooms and reliable wifi. I particularly enjoyed the cooked breakfast in the morning and the lovely views from the tables outside. it was a great find, offering a unique and enjoyable experience.

I did find that the noise from the nearby railway line could be slightly disturbing, especially if you are a light sleeper.

Lastly, the location of the hotel was perfect for exploring the surrounding countryside and nearby cities, with breathtaking walking trails just a stone's throw away. this hotel provided great value for money and I would highly recommend it.

Nothing to fault.

During my recent stay at Beacon & Railway, I was impressed by the size and modernity of the room. It was clean and spacious, with a lovely large bath that my partner and I enjoyed after a long day of walking. The food was reasonably priced, and we had the option of selecting smaller portion basket meals, which turned out to be more than enough. The made-to-order breakfast was a nice touch, and we were able to choose a convenient time for us. Despite being a bit of a detour from the Cotswold way, this B&B is worth staying at for its lovely rooms and friendly service.

We had a great time at this hotel during Christmas. the staff was friendly and welcoming. the food was delicious and the portions were generous, especially the Sunday roast. the location of the hotel was perfect as it was close to nearby attractions and public transportation.

The hotel's parking area was not large enough, which made it difficult to find a spot. the noise from the nearby railway line was a bit loud at times, which disrupted our sleep.
