Super friendly staff and delicious homemade food were the highlights of our stay at this lovely traditional hotel. We enjoyed a comfortable and spacious family room, perfect for our tired children. The location was great, with beautiful nearby countryside for long walks. The full English breakfast set us up for the day before continuing our journey.

The furniture in our room was a bit too big, making it feel slightly cramped and lacking space for our suitcases. the room was right next to the railway line and above the bar, making it noisy and difficult to sleep.

Despite some noise from the nearby railway, it didn't disturb me too much and I was still able to get a decent night's sleep. The basic amenities are sufficient, and despite the slightly smaller rooms, the bunk beds are comfortable with creeking-free frames. Each child even gets their own TV, which is a nice touch. I particularly enjoyed the cooked breakfast in the morning and the lovely views from the tables outside. it was a great find, offering a unique and enjoyable experience.

I did find that the noise from the nearby railway line could be slightly disturbing, especially if you are a light sleeper.

Lastly, the location of the hotel was perfect for exploring the surrounding countryside and nearby cities, with breathtaking walking trails just a stone's throw away. this hotel provided great value for money and I would highly recommend it.

During my recent stay at Beacon & Railway, I was impressed by the size and modernity of the room. It was clean and spacious, with a lovely large bath that my partner and I enjoyed after a long day of walking. The food was reasonably priced, and we had the option of selecting smaller portion basket meals, which turned out to be more than enough. The made-to-order breakfast was a nice touch, and we were able to choose a convenient time for us. Despite being a bit of a detour from the Cotswold way, this B&B is worth staying at for its lovely rooms and friendly service.
