Just had a delightful stay at The Bowes Hotel in a charming village. Lovely stroll, train station nearby. Spotless, fresh room with homely touches and comfy bed. Clean bar with local ales and whisky. Can't fault the pub grub! Friendly, polite staff - special shout out to Ed. We will be back.

Spent Christmas at this cozy hotel near Roman historic sites. Loved the comfy room overlooking the nearby pottery, and the friendly and welcoming staff who made us feel like old friends. the location was perfect for exploring Roman sites, with plenty of walking, cycling, and driving options available. the nearby train station also allowed us to travel to various places, including Carlisle, Hexham, Corbridge, Newcastle. the breakfast was excellent, and they offered a great selection of beers and menu options.

Our room was initially not up to the standard we booked, but the staff was helpful and moved us to a better room. We also had some trouble with the kitchen closing earlier than expected, which was a bit of a letdown.

The value for money at Bowes was incredible. The room was beautifully decorated, spotlessly clean, and had a great shower. The location was perfect for exploring Hadrians Wall and Allen Banks. The staff were friendly and went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable.

The hotel breakfast could be improved with the addition of a bathroom mat to prevent water leakage.

The dining experience was also top-notch, with delicious food and a great selection of drinks. we couldn't fault a thing and we will definitely be returning.

As backpackers, we loved the warm welcome and spacious, comfortable rooms at this hotel. The bar and restaurant with big screen TV were perfect for relaxing and watching the football match. The delicious dinner and included breakfast made our stay even better. We also had the pleasure of meeting the owner, Sa, who showed us genuine hospitality and made us feel at home. We highly recommend this hotel to anyone.
