had a lovely stay in newbury; dolphin exceeded expectations! renovated room was comfortable, rain shower a plus. breakfast was continental, fresh bread & cold meats, staff friendly. definitely recommend & go again!

The location of this hotel is fantastic, right in the Centre of Newbury and close to the train station. The rooms are spotlessly clean, with spacious bathrooms and comfortable beds. The staff are very friendly and courteous, and the continental breakfast offers a generous range of high-quality items. The pub downstairs is a great place to unwind, with good food and drinks available. Parking is also convenient and plentiful. It's a shame that the Christmas meal was a letdown, as unless the restaurant consistently improves.

The noise from the pub downstairs might be a problem for light sleepers.

We had an enjoyable Christmas stay at this hotel. the rooms were clean and well-presented, with comfortable beds and good bathroom facilities. the central location was a major advantage, as we were able to easily explore the nearby town center and its attractions.

There were a few negative aspects to our experience. the noise from the traffic outside, especially in the rooms with front-facing windows, caused us to be woken up early in the morning.

What a wonderful Easter break! Two things stood out for me during my stay here. the atmosphere in the outside garden was amazing, and I loved lounging in the huts while sipping on the gin selections from the bar. the room I stayed in was refurbished to a very high standard, with top-quality bedding and towels that ensured I had a comfortable sleep. the location was perfect too, with convenient car parking and lovely staff.

There were a few things that could have been better. I would have appreciated a shelf in the bathroom for my toiletries, and a tea-making facility in the room would have made my morning more relaxed.

We had a great time at The Dolphin in Newbury. The pub downstairs was a definite highlight, with delicious food and drinks on offer. The staff were incredibly friendly and made us feel very welcome. The continental breakfast was superb, with a wide selection of high-quality items to choose from. The room was well-equipped with modern amenities and luxurious toiletries. The parking was convenient and plentiful. we had a fantastic experience.

The hotel is in the center of Newbury, making it a convenient location for exploring the local areas. The recently renovated rooms are in great condition with a very comfortable bed and excellent shower. The attention to detail is evident throughout, with lovely toiletries provided. The prices are very reasonable, with breakfast costing less than £40.

The service could be improved by having more staff available during breakfast hours.

I got great value for my money at The Dolphin. The room was clean, comfortable, and had a charming character. The location was perfect, being in the heart of town but surprisingly quiet at night. The staff was friendly and accommodating, creating a nice atmosphere throughout my stay.

Good location, with car park. Quiet room, friendly staff. Breakfast lacking fruit and yoghurt initially, but improved with oranges and apples. Nice room with great shower. Newbury offers plenty of dining options. Would prefer a kettle, but free tea and coffee available at bar. Ideal for friends, close to town and Highclere Castle. Clean and recently renovated building. Continental breakfast with good quality yogurt. a pretty good hotel.

I had a great stay at The Dolphin! The room was lovely with an excellent shower. The hotel is in a perfect location, and Newbury itself is charming and clean. There was a good selection of eateries nearby. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the atmosphere was pleasant. The room had everything I needed, and its unique character added to the experience. The bed was comfortable and the decor was nice. The hotel also provided bottled water, which was a nice touch.
