Spent my Christmas at a great hotel in Northumberland with an amazing location in a rural area. The staff were really friendly and helpful, and the food was the best thing about the hotel. The local area offers some great attractions, like Allen Banks and Staward Gorge NT, and Hadrian’s Wall is nearby and accessible via some pleasant back roads.

The hotel was a bit old-fashioned and outdated, and the room and shower were small. The Wi-Fi wasn't the best, but it wasn't a big deal. If you're looking for a modern hotel with spacious rooms, this isn't the place for you. But if you're after a cozy and affordable option in a beautiful location with great food, then this hotel is perfect.

As backpackers, we loved the reasonably priced and comfortable rooms with en suite bathrooms. The hot showers were a nice bonus. The location next to a beautiful stone bridge by the river was ideal for exploring Northumberland. The friendly service, great beer, and excellent dinner were all highlights. The food, including the breakfast, was tasty and well-cooked.

We had a fantastic stay at The Elks Head Inn. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel incredibly welcome. The bar had a great selection of draught beers and the menu was outstanding - the best I've seen in a long time. The food at the inn was exceptional; the use of fresh, local ingredients made each dish stand out. The cheeseboard we asked for was one of the nicest selections I’ve had in a while. The service was top-notch and the relaxed atmosphere added to the overall experience. The value for money was excellent as well. Highly recommended!

The pub atmosphere was absolutely charming and really gave us a true taste of rural England. the staff were incredibly friendly and went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. the food was outstanding, especially the pan-fried guinea fowl which was cooked to perfection. the cozy rooms were the perfect retreat after a long day exploring the countryside.

The WiFi connection in the room was nonexistent, which was a bit inconvenient. the TV was also quite small and had poor sound quality, making it difficult to watch.
