The hotel was conveniently located close to the Newbury town centre, making it easy to explore the area. We also discovered some amazing dining options nearby, such as the Woodspeen restaurant and The Barn restaurant. The room we stayed in was cozy and comfortable, with a lovely bathroom stocked with toiletries. The staff were friendly and helpful, and we enjoyed a delicious breakfast in the morning. there were facilities like a coffee machine and water provided, adding to our convenience.

The shower pressure in the bathroom was a bit weak, which made it difficult to fully enjoy our showering experience.

We had a lovely stay at the Hare and Hounds. The staff were attentive and nothing was too much trouble. The accommodation was gorgeous and we slept really well. The little extra touches, like the gin in the room and fresh milk and water in the morning, were unexpected and appreciated. The room was beautifully decorated for our wedding anniversary. We only wish we could have stayed longer to enjoy it all.

Amazingly modern room with underfloor heating, TV with chrome cast, and a coffee machine. Delicious breakfast buffet and tasty hot food made to order. Friendly and efficient staff, beautiful grounds, and ample parking. Lovely country feel with attention to detail in the decor. A must visit if you love horses, hounds, or hares!

The value for money at Hare And Hounds was excellent, and the room was clean and cosy with nice amenities like a Nespresso coffee machine and underfloor heating.

The menu for breakfast could have been better with a buffet option for bread, eggs, and sausages.

I recently stayed at Hare and Hounds for a weekend getaway. The room was lovely, well-equipped, and spotless. The restaurant and bar area had a great atmosphere, and the staff were friendly and attentive. The hotel had lots of unique touches and decor that made it feel special. The breakfast was delicious, although I would have appreciated a selection of fresh breads on the buffet table and readily available fresh plates and glasses. it was a perfect stay and I will definitely be returning.

The location of the restaurant in The Barn is lovely and the staff are friendly and efficient. The food, although quite expensive, is of good quality. Another advantage is that it's a good place to stay if you plan on eating at the nearby Woodspeen restaurant.

We recently stayed at a charming country hotel near the famous Highclere Castle. The attention to detail in the hotel's decor, from the lobby to the breakfast area, created an inviting and cozy atmosphere. The room was exceptionally clean with comfortable furniture, making our stay very enjoyable. The staff provided excellent customer service, being helpful both at the reception and during breakfast. The hot breakfast, cooked to order, was delicious and different from the usual English breakfast. The beautiful grounds added to the overall experience. We had a wonderful time at this hotel and would definitely stay there again.

Although the food in the hotel's restaurant was exceptional, it was on the pricy side.

Food and ambience were great. the location was convenient for our weekend activities and it was easy to get around. We also appreciated the new conservatory and bar.

The service was very slow in the restaurant, with long wait times for drinks and forgotten orders. Despite eventually correcting the issue, the poor service left a bad taste in our mouths.

I recently had a great stay at a hotel in Newbury that ticked all the boxes for me. the location was perfect - right in the heart of town, close to all the shops and attractions. Secondly, the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, making me feel welcome from the moment I arrived. And thirdly, the rooms were spacious, clean, and had everything I needed for a comfortable stay, including a comfy bed and a TV. And to top it all off, breakfast was included in the price, offering a good selection to start the day right.

The breakfast was also more than adequate and the check-out process was smooth and effortless. we had a fantastic experience at Hare And Hounds.

The only minor improvements we would suggest are the addition of wall hooks for towels and a small bar fridge in the room. We also experienced a temporary hot water shortage in the shower, but it did not significantly affect our overall stay.
