The location of this hotel is just what we wanted - in the heart of Dartmoor with lovely scenery and walking on the doorstep. The rooms had a bath with toiletries and hot drink options, and they were beautiful and better than expected, very quiet with no disturbances from other guests. The service from the staff was amazing, they were friendly and accommodating.

No improvements needed, everything was ok.

The location of the hotel couldn't be better. It's nestled in the heart of beautiful Dartmoor, offering stunning scenic views and plenty of opportunities for walks and exploration. the staff at the hotel were incredibly friendly and welcoming, making us feel right at home. the rooms were comfortable and clean, with cozy beds that ensured a good night's sleep.

The water pressure in the shower, which was quite low and made it difficult to enjoy a proper shower. the heating in the room took a while to warm up, so it was a bit chilly upon arrival.

Excellent food, exceptional service, charming ambiance, well-maintained building, nice room, pleasant staff.

A charming, classic countryside inn offering a homely feel with welcoming staff. the open inglenook fireplaces are a must. the restaurant has elegant decoration and truly stunning food. the room provided a nice view of the lawns and river for an atmospheric stay. the staff made a fuss of our pet, and we enjoyed the bar's good selection of gins and local real ales at a reasonable price. the location is a hidden gem and excellent for exploring the Dartmoor area.

While the staff were accommodating and attentive, the promise of a historic room with a sofa or armchair didn't quite deliver. the TV was small, and the advertised shower cubicle was absent in the bathroom.
