A quaint retreat with a view

Artful Lodger was a nostalgic delight. The breakfast room provided stunning harbor views, and our made-to-order breakfast felt luxurious every morning. Phil’s warm hospitality made us feel right at home!

i almost thought about leaving a good review, but the horrors of running out of tp is something i just can’t shake off. No one provided housekeeping until late pm! i can’t believe no in-house bath robes were offered for the jacuzzi tub. such a miss, obviously a grade-a disaster!

The location was central to the sights and

within walking distance to many attractions, making it easy to explore Newport. Our room in the Havisham Suite was charming and clean, though we did notice some noise from the street on weekends. Overall, a cozy and welcoming experience!

The breakfast was generous, featuring delicious homemade muffins and a spectacular view! The friendly staff offered great local tips, making my stay feel personalized and warm. The location's walkable distance to lovely restaurants and attractions was perfect for Newport exploration.

The stairs to the dining area could be a bit challenging, especially after indulging in the delightful breakfast.

Staying at The Artful Lodger was an absolute delight! I loved getting cozy in the well-appointed Captain Jorgen room with its amazing tempurpedic mattress. Seriously, enjoying breakfast with breathtaking views over Newport in the conservatory was the cherry on top!

My stay here was fantastic, especially with the wonderful breakfast and the friendly hosts who provided great tips for nearby attractions like the stunning Elms and the beautiful Fort Adams State Park, both of which were only a short walk away. it encouraged me to wander around and soak up the historic charm of the city!

Had a lovely time, best part was the brekkie! Phil's cooked-to-order breakfast really hit the spot. couldn’t get enough! Just a tad noisy from the street at times. But what a gaff! Can't wait to pop back!

Charming place with comfy digs and a lovely view from the conservatory. The homemade chocolate chip cookies were a delightful touch, making late-night snacking feel fancy! Walking everywhere was a breeze, just what I needed for my quick getaway.

Just a good pick for a quick break in Newport with all in all brilliant value for money. The pillows were pretty rough, but the coffee from the Keurig was nice. Make sure to be there at 8:30 am for breakfast if you want it fresh.

Heidi and the gang made us feel so at home! Loved chilling in the conservatory with a glass of wine after sunset. Brekkie was a treat—Eileen’s muffins were unreal, especially the blueberry one! Perfect location, close to everything but still quiet enough to relax.

the foliage and garden are beautifully maintained with lovely lighting in the evenings. the narrow staircase to the upper floors was a bit challenging to navigate.
