We stayed at Elkhorn Lodge for a relaxing weekend getaway. The cabin we upgraded to had a charming camping feel, complete with a kitchen and fridge. The peaceful creek in the back added to the tranquility. We loved dining at the neighboring restaurant and taking advantage of the outdoor picnic tables. The hot tub was a highlight, and the location near the Cumbres Toltec railroad depot was convenient. The staff was friendly and helpful, making our stay even more enjoyable.

I enjoyed the peaceful surroundings and the outdoor seating area in the morning. Although spotty, the wifi is good enough to check emails. When my car wouldn't start, the helpful staff lent me cables and got me back on the road in no time. Overall I recommend this place.

Breakfast delights could have been improved with a microwave available. The lack of a microwave made it difficult for us to warm up our food after the power outage in the evening.

Some rooms have updated flooring and bathrooms, and the retired picnic tables are available for use. Additionally, the cafe nearby has tasty breakfast options with a friendly staff.

The housekeeping staff was not up to par and showed reckless behavior, bumping into cabins and spilling cleaning supplies.
