We had a fantastic romantic getaway at a charming hotel in a prime location. the rooms were spotlessly clean and very comfortable. the complimentary breakfast was a nice touch to kickstart our mornings. the staff, especially Shamus at the front desk, were attentive and went above and beyond to make our stay memorable.

Although we had a wonderful experience overall, we found the prices to be a bit high for what was offered. It would have been reassuring to see everyone following the recommended safety protocols, especially during these times.

The front desk staff went out of their way to make sure I had all the information I needed about local attractions. The location of this hotel is awesome! Right in the heart of the Village of La Jolla, with restaurants and a coffee roaster just steps away. Walkable to La Jolla Cove Beach and all the stores. Underground parking available for convenience and security. Polite staff.

my recent stay in la jolla was incredible! empress hotel went above and beyond with a free room upgrade to a spacious king room. the bed was super comfy and the bathroom was divine. don't miss out on the amazing manhattan restaurant with live music. a+ experience!

Whether you want to explore Balboa Park or enjoy the local restaurants and shops, everything is easily accessible from here. The rooms are well-equipped and clean, with modern furnishings. The breakfast selection is above average, and you can enjoy your meal in a lovely outdoor seating area. Additionally, the staff is friendly and polite.

One downside is that the hotel is not very dog-friendly so it may not be the best choice if you are traveling with your furry companion.
