The location was absolutely perfect, right on the cliffs next to the Pacific Ocean. The views were breathtaking and we enjoyed exploring the nearby beach. The hotel itself was eco-friendly and even offered a free meditation lesson during our stay. We also loved the option to rent a reading light for a small fee and the spacious kitchen where we could prepare our own meals. The staff was friendly and check-in was quick. Our room had two wide bunk beds and two smaller ones, and we were lucky to sleep in the wider ones. The hotel also had a selection of books and the view from the kitchen was stunning.

We had an amazing 3-week California round-trip and stayed at 8 different hotels, but Hi Point Montara Lighthouse was the highlight. Despite needing renovations, the location was simply stunning. The private beach and historic lighthouse made it feel like a movie set. For those seeking privacy and tranquility, this is the perfect place. The staff was friendly, offered great restaurant recommendations, and we even lucked out with a private bathroom. Secure parking was a plus.

I absolutely love this hostel! I’ve stayed in countless hostels, but the location and views at Hi Point Montara Lighthouse make up for it. Cliff top benches overlooking the ocean create a beautiful setting. The kitchen is well-equipped, the staff is nice, and the WiFi is decent. Would definitely recommend!
