Outstanding customer service and amazing kindness

I recently stayed at a charming lakeside retreat with my family, and I have to say, the customer service we received was absolutely outstanding. I mentioned to the owner that my husband has a health condition that makes sitting on hard chairs uncomfortable for him, and without hesitation, she went above and beyond to find a comfortable wing back chair from her own collection to place in our room. It was such a kind and thoughtful gesture that made a world of difference for my husband.

As backpackers, we loved the huge open grassy area for activities, swimming area, and kayaking facilities. The property was not a stuffy cookie cutter hotel, but rather felt like a comfortable and homey house. The staff were very nice and helpful, offering my dad a cup of coffee when they saw him looking for it in the morning. The location was fabulous, with a great view and easy access to the lake.

A lovely relaxed resort in a beautiful location. The staff were so friendly and helpful. We were just sad we couldn't stay longer. The Highland cafe was friendly with great food. Chairs and swings to sit out and enjoy the beautiful lake views. Fun activities freely available. Loved being able to use the water facilities - paddleboards, kayaks, canoes - all for free. Rooms were nicely appointed and clean. Very comfortable bed and pillows. Carla and her staff were very friendly, kind, and helpful. The breakfast cafe is adorable and so welcoming, well staffed, and offers a variety of delicious options. Convenient parking right outside the room.

The location of this hotel was perfect for spending Christmas with my family. the views of the lake were breathtaking and added to the festive atmosphere. We also loved that the hotel had a game room with pool and ping pong tables. It kept us entertained during the holiday. Additionally, the staff was friendly and welcoming, which made our stay even more enjoyable.

One of the worst aspects of our stay was the lack of cleanliness in our room. the bathroom had not been properly cleaned and there were stains on the carpet.

We stayed at this lovely resort for a few days and it was absolutely fantastic! The staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating. The grounds were well maintained and there were chairs and swings to relax on. We also had access to kayaks and paddleboards for free, which was a great bonus. a wonderful and relaxing stay!

The resort had beautiful grounds with plenty of activities to enjoy. We had a great time exploring the grounds and trying out different games. It was a nice surprise to find such a variety of activities available on site. Additionally, the staff was friendly and helpful throughout our stay, which added to the positive experience.

The cancellation process was a bit confusing and delayed. It took an additional email to get a response and confirm my reservation.

During my recent stay at Highland Lake Resort, I was pleasantly surprised by the clean, comfortable, and quiet atmosphere. The assortment of rooms available allowed me to choose a location closer to the lake for a quieter experience. However, even though I stayed near the road, I still had a peaceful night's sleep. The convenience of parking right outside my door made it hassle-free. I appreciated having a coffee maker and refrigerator in the room, as well as the availability of extension cords for all the electronics we now travel with. The small shade or curtain on the bathroom window, close to where cars are parked, would be a nice addition to ensure more privacy. Furthermore, the new owners' eagerness to receive feedback and improve the guests' experience is commendable. The fire pits, chairs by the lake, and well-maintained grounds added to the overall enjoyment of my stay. With its proximity to various attractions, visiting during autumn was a great choice. my stay was fantastic, and I hope to return in the future!

The only minor issue I encountered during my stay was that the light next to the TV didn't work, but it wasn't a significant inconvenience since I didn't really need it. Other than that, everything was great, and I want to thank Highland Lake Resort for providing a wonderful experience.

Loved our New Year getaway at this beautiful lakeside retreat! the cozy two, room suite was perfect for our family, with a comfortable king bed and a separate room with a kitchenette and pull, out sofa. the updated decor and clean rooms were impressive, and the friendly staff made us feel right at home. the highlight was definitely the stunning lake view and the fun activities like kayaking and roasting marshmallows by the fire pit. We also enjoyed the convenience of the on, site cafe, offering a delicious breakfast and charming seating options. Definitely a great place to support local businesses and create lasting memories.

The only downside we found was the lack of big fluffy blankets during the colder months. the fleece blankets provided were more for decoration than warmth, so it would have been nice to have larger blankets available.
