A taste of history with a fun twist

This old hotel is such a gem! Walking in felt like stepping back in time with its cool decor and historic vibes. The bar had live music, which was super fun, and the staff were really friendly. I loved the mini fridge in my room, though the squeaky floors might bug some peeps. The food options nearby were awesome!

the historic charm is nice and the location is great for exploring durango.

the beds were uncomfortable with old coil springs and flat pillows. the cleaning staff's loud vacuum made it hard to relax.

This hotel is great value for money, perfect location right in the center of town with all the local attractions just a stone's throw away. The staff was incredibly attentive and friendly, making the stay even more enjoyable. The rooms were comfortable with big windows and the attention to detail was impressive, especially with the basic amenities and breakfast.

All was more than ok, nothing to improve here.

We stayed at the Historic Strater hotel for the Silverton train ride. Great location! Loved having bars on site and enjoyed a delicious breakfast at the French bakery. The front desk staff were all wonderful and welcoming. We'll definitely be staying here again on our next visit.

We loved the vintage feel of the hotel and the central location. Despite the narrow staircase, the elevator was convenient. The train added to the overall atmosphere. we recommend this hotel.

The hotel is located right in the center of the town and close to everything. You can walk to everything including the train station, making it easier for travelers. The lobby and all eating/drinking establishments are well decorated, and the hotel has interesting antiques in every corner, creating a charming atmosphere.

I recently stayed at this hotel and was thoroughly impressed! The location couldn't be better, right in the center of town with easy access to all the restaurants and shops. The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating, even offering dry cleaning and laundry services. I also enjoyed the live entertainment in the bar/lounge area and took advantage of the spa & wellness center. The room amenities were top-notch, including an ironing board and flat-screen TV. I couldn't have asked for more during my stay here!

Spent Easter in a beautiful vintage hotel that made our experience truly unique. Loved the historic feel of the building and enjoyed the amenities provided. Complimentary coffee stations on each floor were a nice touch, and the fluffy bedding and extra pillows made for a comfortable stay. the hotel's perfect location allowed us to easily explore the local area and enjoy some amazing tours nearby.

Our room was a bit on the small side and could get quite warm—even with the window open. the absence of a fan was a major inconvenience, and the hotel staff were not very helpful when we reported it.

We had an amazing stay at Strater! the staff were eager to share the hotel's fascinating history and show us hidden details. the largest collection of Victorian furniture in the world was impressive and the hotel was exceptionally clean with beautiful renovations. the old west charm and haunted stories added to the experience. the staff went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable, granting our every wish and providing extra amenities. a truly exceptional and memorable hotel.
