i nearly thought i could enjoy my stay, but the breakfast was a complete letdown, no juice or milk to be found? imagine that! and don’t even get me started on the pool being closed—how utterly disappointing. honestly, as a paying guest, i certainly woudl ve been expecting a little extra, but apparently, that’s too much to ask here.

During our visit for the Taylor Swift concert, we appreciated the charming historical setting of the area, which added a special touch to our trip. The comfort of the beds and the quality of breakfast really stood out to us, with hot options that met our needs. The location being near the Ohio River was an added plus, making it convenient to explore the local attractions. Overall, it was a pleasant stay despite a few minor issues.

Unexpected breakfast delights

Our stay was quite pleasant—clean room, comfortable beds, and a breakfast spread that pleasantly surprised me. I was particularly fond of the omelets and the friendly staff at the breakfast bar.

The hotel is conveniently located near the Mountaineer racetrack casino and offers a lovely view of the nearby Ohio River. The breakfast options are impressive, with a variety of hot food and fresh coffee available every morning.

The pool was unfortunately closed during my stay.

The indoor pool has a nice area but the water felt a bit too cool. Room had a weird smell upon arrival but opened the window and air conditioner helped.

i almost thought i would enjoy my stay, but the mattress was awful! woke up with a sore back. also, the breakfast staff seemed to think i was bothering them when i asked for fresh decaf coffee. how hard is it to treat guests like they matter? definitely not a place i'll return to, despite its clean rooms.

I had a good experience here for 5 nights. The breakfast bar was impressive, featuring a warm selection with attentive staff. I also enjoyed a clean Leisure King room, which was quite comfortable. The quiet location allowed for peaceful sleeping. The shower pressure was strong, adding to my satisfaction.

It was just a great match for a city break in Newell with great value for the money. Having a reliable hot breakfast every morning was a nice touch. Be mindful of any noise from the nearby roads during your stay.

this hotel was pretty decent. the staff was super friendly and helpful. breakfast was way better than i expected, with all you can eat options. the room was clean and the bed was really comfy. also, it was quiet so i got a good night sleep.

but the carpets in the rooms are kinda old and stained. the indoor pool was also closed while we were there.

We loved our stay at this hotel! It was a fantastic spot for our family, located just minutes from the Mountaineer Casino, which kept things interesting for the adults. The breakfast spread was great, with warm options and plenty to satisfy my kids.

My wife says that the carpets could really use a deep clean. A little update could make a huge difference, especially for kids running around.
