The Holiday Inn in Santee is perfect for backpackers with its clean rooms and convenient location near I95. The hotel also offers a decent grassy area for small dogs, perfect for travelers with furry companions. I was pleased to find that there were several well-behaved dogs on our floor and no barking to disturb our stay. Additionally, having a restaurant and bar on the property was a welcome treat after our long 14-hour drive.

Convenient location and great bonus of an immediate room upgrade. the manager was quick to resolve any issues, such as a small ceiling leak, and we got upgraded to a suite. the cleanliness of the place and the friendly and helpful staff were highly appreciated. It's difficult to find a good, pet-friendly hotel, but this one fits the bill!

Limited grassy area for walking a dog and no amenities for breakfast at 6:00 AM. the rooms could use some more than cosmetic work, as there were issues with the bathroom door not closing and the toilet running. Breakfast was not included and lacked a buffet option, which made it inconvenient for a quick meal.
