The lodge had a great location, being close to three ski resorts. We loved the cozy and rustic feel of the rooms and the comfortable beds. the staff were friendly and welcoming, making us feel at home during our romantic escape. the hot water swimming pool was a great addition and provided a relaxing atmosphere.

The exterior of the building was a little outdated and the entrance could use better illumination and signage, especially at night. We also noticed a slight musty smell in the hallway and our room, although it wasn't overpowering.

During our Christmas stay, we were impressed with the updated and clean room, complete with a well-equipped kitchen area. the view of the nearby mountain from the parking lot was breathtaking, adding to the charm of our holiday experience. Additionally, the friendly staff made us feel welcome and were always ready to assist with any questions or needs we had.

I recently stayed at Smoketree Lodge for a mountain bike trip and I couldn't have asked for a better location. It's right in between Rocky Knob, Beech Mountain, and Sugar, making it easy to access all three bike parks without having to drive far. The hotel itself has a great overlook of Grandfather Mountain on sunny days, adding to the scenic experience. The room was clean and comfortable, with all the amenities I needed including extra towels, pillows, and even a wine corkscrew. The staff at the front desk were friendly and helpful, providing coupons and tickets for local attractions. The pool was also a great addition to unwind after a day of biking. I loved everything about my stay at Smoketree Lodge.
