I stayed at Big Island Hostel in Hilo for 3 days and loved it! The staff was friendly and helpful, the room was comfortable with a clean bed, and the atmosphere was relaxed. The hostel was centrally located, making it easy to explore the town on foot. I felt safe during my stay and even made friends with other guests. Dutch, one of the staff members, made me feel like family. I also appreciated the proximity to the airport. I highly recommend staying at this hostel when visiting Hilo.

Clean, modern hostel with friendly staff, walking distance to restaurants and bars.

I recently stayed at a wonderful hostel on the Big Island in Hilo for a few nights. The property was well-decorated, clean, and had a well-organized kitchen. The staff was incredibly friendly and the beds were comfortable. The showers were also good, and despite there being only two bathrooms, there was minimal waiting. I was impressed with the location, as it was within walking distance of a supermarket, restaurants, and the beach. The hostel also had free parking, which was convenient for my rental car. it was a great place to stay with a nice common room and clean bathrooms.

We absolutely loved our stay at this hostel in Hilo. The best aspects were the cleanliness , the facilities , the convenient parking , and the location. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, making us feel like family during our stay. We felt safe with the surveillance cameras and code required to access the building and rooms. Plus, the hostel had a relaxed vibe and staff on-site 24/7.

My recent stay at the hostel on the Big Island was wonderful. The facilities were newly refurbished and everything was clean and comfortable. The beds were great, especially for someone tall like me. The host, Praewa, was friendly and helpful, making our stay even more enjoyable. Hilo felt safe and the location of the hostel was convenient. I had a fantastic experience and would highly recommend this hostel.

While there were a few minor inconveniences, such as having to leave our shoes outside and the air conditioning not working properly, they did not overshadow the overall positive experience. Despite these drawbacks, I still had a great time at this hostel.

the staff at the hostel were extremely helpful in planning activities and making recommendations. the cleanliness of the hostel was impeccable and it had a pleasant aroma throughout. the dormitory I stayed in with 8 beds was spacious and not crowded at all. the hostel is conveniently located within walking distance to the bus stop, downtown Hilo, and the Japanese garden. the kitchen had new dishes and equipment, and they provided free tea and coffee at any time. the lockers were large and provided added security. I highly recommend this hostel.

The common areas are well-maintained, providing a great space to relax and socialize. Plus, there's free parking right behind the hostel, making it convenient for those with a car.

We had an amazing stay at this hostel! The cleanliness was impeccable, with shampoo, conditioner, and soap provided in the showers and towels and sheets provided. The hotel facilities were great, with a nice sitting room and a well-equipped kitchen for making breakfast. The staff, particularly Malia, were friendly and explained everything clearly. The location was perfect, really close to the airport and right in the heart of everything, with stores, restaurants, and a bus stop nearby.
