Rooms and bathrooms are smaller than newer hotels. Floors may creak and not be perfectly level.

I chose Lafayette Hotel for its riverfront location and historic charm during my trip from SC to Northwest OH. It did not disappoint. The nostalgia effect of the rooms made me feel very comfortable, with an old-school feel throughout the hotel. The convenient free parking and decent restaurant were a plus. Despite the rain, it was well-located for historic sightseeing. The room, though small, reminded me of a cozy cabin on The Delta Queen sternwheeler. The updated, spacious bathroom was a pleasant surprise.

We loved the historic feel of the hotel, which was built in the late 1800s. The staff was friendly and accommodating, making us feel welcome throughout our stay. The hotel facilities were clean and well-maintained, and we enjoyed the excellent menu options for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Located downtown by the river, this historic hotel is conveniently close to everything. Our room had a lovely view of the water and was comfortable with great linens. The lounge and restaurant served great food with breakfast buffet being a highlight. The hotel even offers packages at good rates for long stays.

The parking area is tight and may not accommodate all types of vehicles.
