We recently stayed at this luxurious 4-star hotel and had a wonderful experience. The location on a hill in the charming neighborhood of Santa Teresa was perfect, providing stunning views and a peaceful atmosphere. The service was top-notch, with attentive staff always ready to assist us with anything we needed. The housekeeping was impeccable, ensuring that our room was kept clean and comfortable throughout our stay. The hotel amenities, such as the air conditioning and sitting area, added to our overall comfort. The pool area was a highlight, with a beautiful patio and garden furniture where we could relax and enjoy the sun. The hotel also offered a poolside snack bar and a bar/lounge area, providing a convenient and enjoyable dining experience. We highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a luxurious and comfortable stay.

The location was perfect, nestled in the beautiful neighborhood of Santa Teresa. The stunning view of Guanabara Bay from our room was breathtaking. The house itself was a gem, with its elegant architecture and charming interior. The common living room was the perfect spot to enjoy the delicious breakfast and relax with a good book. The owner, Adriana, was incredibly helpful and gave us excellent recommendations for places to visit. The cook, Fausto, prepared delicious food every morning. Despite a couple of rainy days and some minor issues with the WiFi and hot water, our experience was fantastic. We highly recommend Gerthrudes and would definitely stay here again. I highly recommend this hotel.

Situated on a steep hillside, the establishment offers breathtaking views of Guanabara Bay, which can be enjoyed from the breakfast room and pool area. Additionally, it is conveniently located near the tram, making it easy to reach some of the top attractions in the area. The rooms are clean, comfortable, and beautifully decorated, providing a cozy and welcoming atmosphere. Guests rave about the delicious breakfast, which includes a variety of options such as freshly made juices and eggs made to order.

There was one issue with the noise level in certain areas of the bed and breakfast, which slightly affected the overall experience.

We had an incredible stay at this bed and breakfast. The hotel facilities were top-notch, with a beautiful tropical minimalism decor and a mixture of old school grandeur. The cleanliness was impeccable, and the breakfast served in the conservatory with stunning views of the city was absolutely delicious. The staff, led by Chris, went above and beyond to cater to all of our needs, making us feel like family. Additionally, the location was perfect, nestled in a lovely and colorful neighborhood with close proximity to some amazing restaurants in Santa Teresa.

We were impressed by the history behind the place, which Adriana shared with us. the cleanliness of the rooms and the comfort of the beds were outstanding.
