For the price, I got excellent value and a comfortable room with a touch of modernity in a historic hutong setting. The location was truly authentic and the staff went above and beyond to help me navigate the streets of Beijing, even providing helpful tips and translating names into Chinese.

The breakfast experience could be improved by addressing the steepness of the stairs leading to the breakfast room. However, the staff was more than willing to deliver breakfast to the room, so it wasn't a major issue.

We also loved the traditional decor and beautiful courtyard. The on-site restaurant offered delicious meals, including my favorite, the broccoli with garlic. Though slightly more expensive than other hotels, it was definitely worth it.
