Great location in the outskirts of the city with beautiful views. Had a corner room with floor to ceiling windows and a small balcony. Perfect for birdwatching and star gazing. The hotel served complimentary tea and coffee in the afternoon, a pleasant surprise.

The bath in the room was not as described, it was small and filled only by the overhead shower water. There was no separate hot water source, which after returning from a wet and windy hike.

The bed was incredibly comfortable and the view from the balcony was breathtaking. The bathroom had excellent amenities and the breakfast was the best in Costa Rica. The staff provided great recommendations for activities and the location was beautiful, surrounded by nature. A perfect place to relax and enjoy the rainforest.

Located in a picturesque area, the hotel offers good breakfast options and spacious rooms. The shower pressure and water temperature are satisfactory. The property has a quiet trail, perfect for spotting birds and occasional monkeys. The lodge is within walking distance of town and has a serene atmosphere.

OMG amazing location, friendly staff open till 12am, delicious breakfast with fresh bread and exotic birds, exceptional tour guide, best bed and view.

We stayed at this beautiful hotel for a few days and absolutely loved it. The location was perfect, close to everything but still tucked away in a serene setting. The atmosphere and grounds were stunning, with cabin-like buildings nestled in a forest. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the breakfast was delicious with a variety of options including fresh fruit and homemade marmalade. The hotel's sustainability practices were impressive, and we enjoyed seeing wildlife up close. We can't wait to come back.

The rooms at the lodge were fantastic, with raised platforms that provided stunning views of the surrounding jungle. the rooms were clean and the bathroom was excellent. I loved having a balcony where I could relax and watch birds. the staff were very friendly and the breakfast provided was delicious. Additionally, the location of the lodge was great as it was within walking distance of some fantastic restaurants in town.

One thing that bothered me during my stay was the lack of hooks in the room. There were no hooks anywhere, not even in the bathroom, which made it difficult to hang up towels and keep them dry.

We had a fantastic stay at this hotel. The cleanliness of the rooms and bathroom was impeccable. The hotel facilities were well-maintained and the cozy room had all the necessary amenities. The location was mesmerizing, close to the cloud forest and only a 10-minute drive from the national park. The staff, including Eva, Karen, and Jossy, were extremely friendly and helpful. The breakfast options were diverse and delicious, with homemade jams and hot chocolate available. we felt close to nature and enjoyed the stunning view from the restaurant in the morning.

There was nothing we didn't like.

We were pleasantly surprised by the secluded location of this hotel, nestled at the edge of a forest pathway. The peaceful setting allowed us to enjoy the sights and sounds of nature without any traffic noise. Our top-floor room provided privacy and a stunning view from the terrace, where we spotted various birds and animals. The breakfast was delicious and the staff were extremely helpful. The hotel's proximity to the city and national parks made it very convenient for us as longer-term business travelers.

We felt right at home during our stay at Cala Lodge and had no complaints. The cozy atmosphere and attentive staff made our experience enjoyable.

The wildlife on the grounds was abundant, with monkeys, agouti, coati, toucans, hummingbirds. The staff was incredibly helpful and friendly, assisting us with organizing activities and making our stay enjoyable. The breakfast options were varied and delicious, with fresh fruit, warm bread, and a delightful house-made marmalade. The room was comfortable and had a beautiful balcony where we could admire the scenery.

For us it was ideal.

I had an incredible stay at this hotel. The cleanliness was impeccable, with the bathroom being spotlessly clean every day. The hotel facilities were great, especially the sheltered main terrace where I could watch hummingbirds and other wildlife. The location was perfect, as everything was within walking distance and I didn't need a car. The breakfast provided was the best I've had in Costa Rica, with multiple delicious options to choose from. Additionally, the staff were welcoming, friendly, and kind throughout my stay.

The spacious and clean family suite with a balcony allowed us to relax and enjoy the beautiful nature surrounding us. Despite the chilly nights, the provided blankets kept us cozy. The trail on the property offered a fun and immersive experience where we saw monkeys and other critters. Even though the Wi-Fi in our room was a bit patchy, we had no trouble connecting in the main lobby and dining area. our stay at this hidden oasis was fantastic and we would highly recommend it to others seeking an idyllic Monteverde getaway.
