The value for money at Surf Lodge was great, and the room was comfortable with a cool beach vibe. The location was perfect, just a short walk to the beach with amazing surf and beautiful sunsets. The staff treated me like family, especially Keilyn who went above and beyond to ensure I had everything I needed.

The hotel breakfast menu could use a bit more variety to cater to different tastes.

During our Christmas stay, we really enjoyed the convenience of the hotel's central location. It was a quick walk to both the beautiful Playa Negra Beach and some great healthy restaurants. The pool was also a highlight of our stay, and we found ourselves taking a dip at least twice a day. Furthermore, the owner's wife was very nice and helpful, making us feel welcome and ensuring we had a pleasant experience.

We did have a few negative experiences during our stay. The husband, who is one of the owners, had an unpleasant and unhelpful attitude.

The atmosphere at the lodge was quiet, peaceful, and private, with beautiful gardens and plenty of places to relax. The pool was also well-maintained, and the kitchen in our room was fully equipped and easy to use. it's my favorite place to stay in this area.

The lodge's central location was fantastic, within walking distance to the beach and surrounded by a peaceful and private atmosphere. The pool was absolutely gorgeous, and I couldn't resist taking a dip twice a day. The family-owned Jalapeño cafe served delicious food, and the staff, especially Keilyn, were attentive and provided excellent service. The well-maintained gardens and plenty of relaxing spots added to the overall charm of this charming lodge. It is definitely my favorite place to stay.

We absolutely loved our stay at this hotel. The location was perfect, right in the heart of town and just a short walk to the beach. We also appreciated the secure parking and the fact that the hotel had a large gate that was locked at night.

It made it so convenient for me to enjoy the ocean breeze whenever I wanted. Plus, the beds were super comfy, which made my stay even more enjoyable.

Not having a kettle was quite inconvenient, and the lack of coffee provided was a letdown. It would have been nice to have at least a few spoons of coffee available.

The spacious rooms were clean and comfortable, with all the necessary amenities for a pleasant stay. We also enjoyed the delicious food at the adjoining restaurant, Jalapeños Cafe.

The pool was clean and inviting, and Alex, who handled all the maintenance and cleaning, was efficient and considerate. The fully equipped kitchen, complete with a spacious refrigerator, made it easy for us to prepare our own meals. The added security of the locked gate at night was appreciated. this is our favorite place to stay in Playa Negra.

We felt incredibly special during our stay and have absolutely no complaints whatsoever.
