The value for the money at this rainforest hotel was excellent. The room was comfortable and the beautiful gardens added to the overall ambiance. The staff at Selva Verde Lodge were superb, always helpful and friendly.

The breakfast option could use some improvement.

I recently stayed at a hotel in Sarapiqui for a wildlife photography trip. Selva Verde Lodge was the perfect choice for my two-night stay. The location was excellent, surrounded by lush green gardens and a creek that added to the natural atmosphere. The accommodation was spacious and comfortable, with big windows facing the forest. The staff were polite and helpful, providing me with a bird field guide and guiding me through the various trails on the property. The breakfast was delicious, offering a mix of continental and local dishes. it was a wonderful experience with plenty of wildlife sightings, including basilisk lizards, poison dart frogs, and sloths.

I can recommend this hotel.

We had an incredible wildlife viewing experience during our stay at Selva Verde Lodge. We were amazed by the variety of birds and wildlife, including a close encounter with a mother and baby sloth. The knowledgeable guides and delicious cocktails at the bar added to the overall enjoyment of our trip. The covered walkways were also very convenient for staying dry. The only downside was the traffic noise from the road, but we would still highly recommend staying here, especially in a room by the river.

stayed here for a photography trip and was blown away. spacious room facing the forest, no noise except for nature. the guided tour was amazing, saw monkeys, tucans, and even a glass frog. staff was friendly and the food was delicious.

Wonderful Experience. I was there for a photography trip. The room I stayed in was very spacious with big windows facing the forest. The guided tour of the primary forest was amazing, with experienced guides and plenty of wildlife to see. The facility itself is beautifully landscaped with two restaurants and nightly nature presentations. The staff, especially Gustavo, were attentive and helpful. The rooms were beautiful, by the river, and waking up to monkeys and hummingbirds was a treat. Refillable water stations and covered walkways were convenient.

The location of the lodge was great, surrounded by a beautiful rainforest with lots of hiking trails to explore. the guided tours provided by the staff were excellent, especially the night walk and birdwatching tours. We got to see a lot of wildlife and learn about the local flora and fauna. the meals at the lodge's restaurant were also quite good, with a variety of options to choose from.

The accommodation at the lodge was a bit dated and in need of a refresh. the furniture and lighting in the rooms were old and worn out, which made the overall experience less comfortable.

During our New Year stay, we enjoyed the beautiful surroundings and abundant wildlife at the lodge. The guided hike through the primary forest was a highlight, as we saw many fascinating species of birds and frogs. The lodge's location right on the highway was convenient for exploring the area, and we were pleasantly surprised that we couldn't hear any road noise from our room. The lodge's pool was also a great place to relax and cool off after a day of activities.

One downside we experienced was the occasional noise from other guests, particularly during the summer months when school groups stay at the hotel. The thin walls in the rooms didn't provide much sound insulation.

What a perfect stay we had at this eco lodge! The location was great, overlooking the river and surrounded by peaceful nature. We were amazed by the abundance of wildlife, from howler monkeys and sloths to a wide variety of birds. The room was spacious and comfortable, with a beautiful view from the balcony. The guides at the lodge were incredibly knowledgeable and accommodating, taking us on morning and evening walks and organizing trips to nearby attractions. The food at the restaurant was delicious, and we enjoyed the range of drinks available at the bar. The swimming pool was a nice addition, and despite the rooms being spread out, the staff was always helpful, providing trolleys to transport our luggage. we would wholeheartedly recommend this place for anyone who loves nature and wants a memorable stay.

The chocolate tour was fantastic and the staff were superb - very helpful and friendly. The breakfast with a view of the feeding place for birds was a fun experience.
