The location of the cottage was stunning, with breathtaking views of a serene lake and snow-capped mountains. It truly felt like a postcard come to life. The attention to detail in the cottage was impressive, with thoughtful touches like playing cards and dominoes provided for entertainment. Another advantage was the proximity to the main city centre, making it convenient for shopping and dining options.

The intense wind during the night, which made for a noisy and somewhat sleepless experience. The wind was so powerful that it felt like our bungalow might take off!

The cabin by the lake was absolutely perfect for our honeymoon. When we arrived in the dark, Lara went above and beyond to help us find our way. And when we stepped out of the cabin, we were greeted with a breathtaking display of Northern Lights right above us! It was truly a magical experience, made even better by the cozy and spacious interior of the cabin. The host has impeccable taste, making it a delight to stay there. We even had a surprise visit from a friendly dog that made our stay even more joyful. I highly recommend this place for a memorable and romantic getaway.

I had booked a stay at a charming cottage to witness the enchanting Northern lights, and I couldn't have been happier with my choice. The cottage at Helgafell was an absolute delight. Lara, the host, was incredibly helpful, always prompt in her communications, and even waited for us when we arrived late. The cottage itself was adorable and had everything we could possibly need. The best part? As soon as we stepped out of our car, we were treated to a breathtaking display of the Northern lights dancing in the open landscape. I even caught a glimpse of pink! It was truly a magical experience. I only wish we could have stayed longer than just one night. Given the chance, I would definitely return to Helgafell.
