I enjoyed waking up to the views of the mountains and glaciers. Breakfast had enough options to start the day. I liked that the place is quiet at night, away from the noise of the city. My favorite part was trying the langoustine soup for dinner, which I found delightful. During my stay, I appreciated the friendly staff who helped me feel at home. i thought i booked one of the nice rooms, but i was horrified to find the shower drain was clogged. also, the lobby's furniture felt like it came from a yard sale. some special treatment would be expected, but it seemed like i was just another guest. i almost wanted to leave a good review, but i just couldn’t.

My stay at Lilja Guesthouse was delightful! The breathtaking glacier views from my room made every morning feel special. The staff was incredibly friendly and even prepared a lunch bag for my early departure. Plus, the breakfast was delicious!

One thing to note is that the bathroom could use more hooks for towels, and the pillows were a bit on the flat side. Also, it can get a little dark at night walking to the restaurant, so a flashlight could be handy.

The sound insulation is non-existent!!! Expect to hear every movement from neighbors, and the bathroom lacks adequate toiletries!!! Also, the temperature control is defective, making the room uncomfortable!!! An extra pillow would be nice too!!!

lilja guesthouse has an amazing location with stunning views of the glaciers. the breakfast was really good, and the staff were super nice! just sitting on the front porch, soaking in those views, was a highlight. it's nice and quiet at night, which was perfect for us.

just keep in mind the older building might feel a bit outdated.

Had an awesome time with friends exploring the nearby glacier hiking and boat tours at Vatnajökull National Park. The views from our room were fantastic, and the breakfast was really good. The staff were friendly and helpful. Definitely recommend trying the tender lamb at the restaurant! Just so you know, the guesthouse is a bit far from the town, which means it's super quiet at night.

Great views and the shower was awesome. Wi-Fi was slow and no cots available.
