This budget-friendly hostel offers a great value for money compared to the high prices in Iceland. Situated in a remote residential area, it provides a peaceful and quiet atmosphere. The staff is friendly and accommodating, always ready to assist guests with their needs. The hostel features a spacious kitchen and a laundry area, as well as a comfortable lounge with plenty of seating. The individual rooms are cozy and well-decorated, with unique artwork on the walls. Each bed is equipped with power points and a personal light.

Some areas of the hostel are still under construction, giving it a slightly unfinished feel.

As longer term business travelers, we loved the friendly staff, interesting guest room, and the free ticket to use the pool in Olafsvík. The atmosphere was incredible and we enjoyed meeting other cool visitors. The staff gave us a full tour of the facility and shared the mission behind it. We also appreciated the option to cook our own meals and the availability of kitchen facilities.

The location near Snaefellsnes National Park is ideal for exploring the beautiful surroundings. Additionally, the hostel doubles as an independent theater and offers an Artist in Residency program, making it a cultural hub.

the atmosphere and staff at this hostel in Hellissandur were incredible, exceeding my expectations. The communal area provided a lively and friendly space to relax and meet other travelers. The free ticket to the local pool was a fantastic bonus for experiencing Icelandic culture.

More toilets and showers would have been nice.

We had a unique and amazing stay at the hostel! After cold nights in a van with a broken heater, the warm room and shower were much needed. We enjoyed the widely accessible bathroom and kitchen, and the beautiful and comfortable lounge, adorned with artwork. the host provided excellent hospitality. the hostel's location was great for visiting Snaefelsnes National Park.

Could not be improved in any way. 👍

We had an incredible time at Freezer Hostel & Culture Center. the unique atmosphere and cozy environment made us feel right at home. the staff, especially Igor, were incredibly helpful and made sure we had everything we needed. the room with the art on the walls was a hit with our 1-year-old son, and the comfortable beds ensured a good night's sleep. the common area was a great space for socializing and meeting interesting people. the location near the national park was perfect for exploring the diverse landscape of Snaefellsnes.

Beyond expectations! Kids loved it, cool and weird place. Friendly receptionist, comfy beds, clean bathroom. Additional room with massage chair and games. Family room with parking. Well-equipped kitchen. Pity we only stayed one night.

We had a fantastic stay at this hostel. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the location was perfect. The hostel had a nice big lounge and well-equipped kitchen facilities. We also received a free coupon for a nearby swimming pool, which was a nice added bonus. The hostel's cultural offerings, such as theater performances and live music, were unfortunately not available during our stay due to a national holiday.

As a lover of the arts and creativity, I was immediately drawn to the welcoming and warm atmosphere of this hostel. The bar area was beautifully decorated, creating a cozy space to relax and mingle. Despite being in the off season, the staff still provided occasional entertainment, making our visit even more enjoyable. The location was perfect for exploring nearby hikes and attractions. I would definitely return to this unique and memorable hostel.

The hostel had a great atmosphere with unique wall arts and a big theater/concert area. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the rooms were clean and well-maintained. I also liked the fact that they sold beers at the hostel, which was a plus.

One thing that could be improved was the lack of privacy in the bathrooms, as they were too close to the kitchen area and didn't have a separate door. It made it uncomfortable for both bathroom users and people eating in the kitchen.

I recently stayed at The Freezer Hostel in Hellissandur for a week. The hostel has a really cool design and mentality. It offers movie nights and live music every week, with a huge living room filled with instruments, board games, and lounges. The beautiful paintings on every wall added to the ambiance. The owner was amazing and super friendly, creating a comfortable and welcoming atmosphere. The artists-in-residency and other guests quickly became friends and we all enjoyed our stay together. The location was good for exploring the peninsula, and the staff were friendly.

I had such a wonderful time staying at this hostel. The communal area was spacious and cozy, perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring. The live music in the summer must be amazing! The location was breathtaking, surrounded by mountains and the sea. I enjoyed cycling along the nearby path and exploring the beautiful countryside. The staff was very friendly and showed me around the facilities. My room was private with its own bathroom, which was a nice touch. I also appreciated the free pass to the local pool. I highly recommend this hostel for its soulful atmosphere and stunning surroundings.
