the hotel was just so luxuriously messy, I couldn't believe my eyes. the bathroom tiles were absolutely stained and disgusting, and the ‘amenities’ like the spa and shop were all closed. I also anticipated some sweet welcome gift for my inconvenience, but no such luck. I almost thought about giving a good review but just couldn’t.

Breakfast was disappointing, with very limited options and poor coffee quality that was surprising for an Italian hotel.

Our stay at Royal Hotel Carlton was surprisingly delightful! The central location made exploring Bologna effortless, and the breakfast buffet was outstanding with local flavors. The staff were always friendly, and the gym had modern equipment, which was a great bonus.

However, the temperature control in the room was less than ideal, as the air conditioning was a bit finicky. A full-length mirror would have also been a nice touch in the room. These minor issues didn't overshadow our experience, but some improvements could enhance comfort.

my stay was fantastic as this hotel is just a few steps from the famous Basilica of San Petronio and the lively area around MAMbo, making it so easy to enjoy city strolls and discover beautiful landmarks while taking in the local vibe and delicious food options nearby.

the air conditioning was broken, and I sweated like a pig, truly delightful! also, I almost collapsed when I saw the unclean bathroom. just what I needed after such a long trip! I would have thought some complimentary refreshments would be offered to soothe me, but I guess that was too much to ask. almost gave a good review, but just couldn’t.
