We had a fantastic stay at a hotel on Shijo Doori in Kyoto. the staff at Ab Hotel Kyoto Shijo Horikawa were incredibly friendly and made the check-in and check-out process a breeze. the room was clean and spacious, perfect for a solo traveler like me. the location was ideal, with a 711 just a short 2-3 minute walk away and a subway/train station only 5-6 minutes away. the hotel also had great amenities, including a free hot spa to relax in after a long day of exploring, vending machines for drinks, and even a coin laundry. it was the best value for money I've ever spent on a hotel!

We had a fantastic stay at this hotel. the property was clean, welcoming, and very comfortable. the room was well-maintained and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. the plug points were conveniently placed, allowing us to charge our devices easily. the hotel also had a coin washer/dryer on the ground floor, which was a big help during our long trip. the location was great, with a bus stop just steps away. There were plenty of direct buses to get us to the train stations and tourist sites in the area. Plus, there were several restaurants and convenience stores within walking distance. we had a wonderful experience at Ab Hotel!

The location of the hotel is very convenient as it is very close to Kyoto's market center and just outside two or three bus stops. We found it easy to explore the city using the bus transport and it made getting around hassle-free. The room was spacious and had all the necessary facilities for a comfortable stay.

The breakfast offered at the hotel was not up to our expectations. We would have preferred to explore the local area for a bakery or coffee shop instead.

The breakfast was delicious and we also enjoyed the authentic Japanese hot baths. Another advantage was the spacious room which allowed us to easily open our suitcases. the hotel's central location made it easy to access public transportation and nearby restaurants.

The lack of English at the front desk and on the TV made communication difficult at times. while we were told we could decide on the method of payment at checkout, our credit card was charged without our consent and it was a hassle to pay with cash as we had expected.
