I had a wonderful stay at this luxurious 4-star hotel. The location was perfect, just a short walk from the train station and bus station, making it extremely convenient for sightseeing. The room was spacious and comfortable, and I especially loved the traditional tatami flooring. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful, providing excellent service throughout my stay. The highlight of my experience was the private onsens, which were absolutely beautiful and provided a relaxing and tranquil atmosphere. I had the choice of three different baths, each offering breathtaking views of the mountains. It was truly a luxurious experience.

I was put on a smoking floor, which was unpleasant as a non-smoker. The room and hallway had a strong smell of cigarette smoke.

Located just a stone's throw away from the train and bus stations, this hotel is perfectly situated for easy access to transportation. The room and ensuite bathroom were clean, and the bed was comfortable with both a western mattress and a futon on top.

We had a fantastic experience at the onsen in Takayama. The sauna, cold water bath, and two hot spring baths were the perfect way to relax after a long day of exploring. The traditional Japanese bath experience was complete and left us feeling refreshed and rejuvenated. The breakfast offered a wide range of choices and the food itself was delicious. The location of the hotel was ideal, just a short walk from the JR station and Nohi Bus Terminal, making it convenient to explore the city. The hotel staff were kind, helpful, and fluent in English. The peaceful environment inside, along with the clean and comfortable rooms, made for a truly enjoyable stay. I highly recommend this hotel for a peaceful and relaxing stay in Takayama.

I felt right at home from the moment I stepped onto the tatami floors. The traditional Japanese decor in the guest room was both beautiful and comfortable, giving me a sense of staying in a traditional Japanese house with all the modern conveniences. The highlight of my stay was definitely the rooftop onsen, where I got to relax and soak while enjoying a breathtaking view of the city, especially at night. The staff was friendly and spoke excellent English, making communication easy. The breakfast spread was generous and offered a variety of delicious dishes. I had a nice experience at this hotel and would recommend it to others.

We had a romantic escape, and although the hotel was difficult to find, we found the complementary noodle service at 22h30 a pleasant surprise. the location was good, being close to the train station, and the public footbath was convenient and cute.

The hotel tries too hard to emphasize Japanese tradition. Although we appreciate that you have to take off your shoes, the lack of slippers was very uncomfortable.

the hotel, Ouan, was clean and comfortable, providing a relaxing atmosphere. the highlight for me was the exceptional public and private baths, including an amazing outdoor bath. It was truly magical to soak in the warm water while snow fell on my shoulders and face. the breakfast at the hotel was also excellent, with a wide variety of options to choose from. I was especially impressed that they provided allergen information, catering to different dietary needs. the location of the hotel was perfect, only a few minutes' walk from the train station.

loved my stay in takayama. ouan exceeded expectations, from beautiful entrance to polite staff. great location, with easy access to train and bus stations. peaceful and comfortable, a true value for money. highly recommend it for a luxurious and relaxing experience.

I had a wonderful stay at a beautiful hotel with a Japanese aesthetic. the tatami mats and lovely decor, including sliding doors and stoneware basin, created a cozy atmosphere. the room itself was comfortable and well-equipped, with two low but comfy beds, a desk area, a sitting area with a couch and coffee table, and a large TV. the view from the room over the town to the snow-covered mountains was breathtaking. I also enjoyed the daily treats left in the room, such as rice crackers or Japanese sweets. the onsen on the 13th floor was a highlight of my stay, especially the private ones which were delightful. the hotel provided good service and a great experience.
