I've stayed in various accommodations during my Japan trip, but this hotel's location was a standout. Just across Takayama Station, it made checking in a breeze even late at night. the staff, despite some language barriers, were incredibly friendly and accommodating. the public bath was a pleasant surprise with all the necessary amenities available. the option to choose between Japanese and Western breakfast added a nice touch to the stay.

One area for improvement would be the comfort of the beds. While I've stayed in capsule hotels without issues, the bed here was not the most comfortable, leading to some back discomfort.

The location was perfect, right across the Takayama station and close to attractions like the Miyagawa morning market. Sending luggage through Yamato Transport to Sapporo was hassle-free. Despite a couple of hiccups with key cards and firm pillows, the staff was helpful and the public bath was a nice touch. Indoor smoking smell lingered but didn't dampen the convenience of the location and responsive staff. The heating system was a bit off, but Takayama's cool October weather helped.

the hotel's location is unbeatable, right across the street from the JR train station. Despite being an older property, it was clean, well-kept, and offered a very reasonable price point. the room was comfortable, providing a much-needed respite after weeks of hostel stays. the onsen was a highlight, boasting a spacious area with plenty of amenities. If I return to Takayama, I would definitely book here again.

Receptionist could be more welcoming.

Staying at the hotel was a delightful experience. the staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful, and the cleanliness of the facilities and rooms was outstanding. Being situated near the train and bus station made transportation a breeze, while the convenience of having a nearby convenience store and proximity to various attractions added to the overall convenience of the location. the public bath provided a relaxing way to unwind each evening.

The public bath at Hida Takayama Washington Hotel Plaza was a relaxing retreat, fully equipped with all necessities for a rejuvenating experience. Despite the small toilet size, the overall stay was complemented by a simple yet pleasing breakfast and the convenient location just opposite the Takayama train station, providing easy access to nearby attractions for family bonding, like the historic Sanmachi Suji streets and local museums.

Convenient location near Takayama station and bus pickup to Shirakawa-go. Comfortable rooms, relaxing sauna, and the option to send luggage ahead affordably and easily.

Felt warmly welcomed, no complaints.

Across from the train station, short walk to markets. Staff accommodated early check-in, bonus free kid's meal. Enjoyed public bath essentials, even cotton balls! Small room, but all you need. Aircon = heater, so window open but Takayama was cool. Breakfast simple but good. Sent luggage to Sapporo - tracked it like a detective with my Apple air tag. Room was too hot, but hey, made it work. Worth it for the location and amenities, especially being a solo traveller from Beijing.

The friendly staff made our stay joyful. Our kids loved the spacious rooms and the delightful bathhouse. Conveniently located near the station and food streets, it was a perfect family retreat.

My wife says that the children's play area could use more toys.

Omg, the location was amazing, right across from the station! 🚄 super convenient for day trips to shirakawa-go and gero. Room was clean but smol, and breakfast had limited options. Staff were mostly friendly, except for one guy. 🙄.
