The hotel is in a prime location with easy access to main shopping areas, Gion, and temples. The room size exceeded Japanese standards and the breakfast was exceptionally good. The hotel also offers a shuttle bus service to Kyoto station. The blend of Japanese and western cultures in the hotel's layout is interesting and adds to the overall experience.

The staff at Hotel The Celestine Kyoto Gion were incredibly friendly and respectful. The male staff member who helped us check-in was particularly passionate about his work and showed great respect for the customers. The room was impeccably clean and the hot spring was an absolute must-try. The hotel's location was perfect, as we were able to walk to many famous attractions. We will definitely stay here again when we return to Kyoto.

The location of this hotel couldn't have been any better. I spent a week exploring the sights just around The Celestine. It's in a quiet area, so you can enjoy peace and quiet at the end of the day, while still being in the midst of all the things to see and do. The staff were courteous and friendly, and the housekeeping staff were thorough. The rooms are Japanese style, with comfortable beds and grand-scale bathrooms. The breakfast offered a selection of Japanese and European cuisine. a great place to stay in Kyoto.

The hotel had a fantastic location, situated in a quiet neighborhood but still central to all tourist attractions. the staff was very friendly and always ready to help. Plus, the hotel had a nice shuttle service to and from a major transportation hub. One of the best things about the hotel was the free guest cellphone with unlimited data, making it easy to navigate around the city. the amenities provided were of good quality.

Although the hotel was great, there were some negative aspects of the stay. the room service was inconsistent and some of the amenities were not refilled at times.

Beautiful hotel with a Japanese feel and comfy western beds. Awesome A/C which mattered when we were there because of the May heat wave. Ideal location for a short trip. We walked everywhere and were able to enjoy the beautiful and walkable historic areas. We were an easy walk from the market and a short taxi ride to the station for a day trip. This kind of hotel is worth every penny to get you closer to the places you want to be and to provide a lovely quiet respite when you are in need of a delicious night's sleep in the cool of the elegantly simple and beautifully appointed rooms. the staff were wonderful and helped us get reservations all three nights. the location puts you in the center of everything that is special and gave us a wonderful break.

For western tastes, the bar is small with limited hours. the onsen was very nice but you must obtain a covering sticker for tattoos as they are not allowed.

The Celestine Kyoto Gion has a beautiful location and a great concept. The hotel staff are helpful and friendly. The shuttle service to the main train station is a convenient amenity. The hotel is new and clean. Good location near interesting spots.

I stayed at Hotel The Celestine for 5 nights and had the best hotel experience in Japan so far. The hotel is beautifully designed with cute cat sculptures and the staff are extremely courteous. They even arranged to take our luggage back to Tokyo at an affordable fee. The breakfast is delicious, the masseuses were excellent, and the room amenities were exceptional. The location is in the sophisticated Gion district, near the best yakiniku restaurant we've ever had.

The room was smallish but adequate for me and my family, and I appreciated the special kids pack that made my daughter feel special. The Japanese-style public baths were a highlight, and I enjoyed starting and ending my day with a relaxing soak. The Japanese breakfast was delicious, with a focus on quality over quantity. The hotel also offers a convenient shuttle to Kyoto station, which was a helpful bonus.
