the atmosphere was pleasant, but the breakfast options at 7:30 am were quite annoyingly early, especially when one is still stuffed from last night’s abundance. to make things worse, i expected a complimentary gesture for my ordeal but was treated like everyone else. ultimately, i nearly gave a good review, but i just couldn't do it.

the lobby is stuck in the 90s, absoluteley charming if you enjoy nostalgia. Also, our room lacked an indoor tub, so we were forced to brave the cold for a public bath. I expected a complimentary upgrade for my troubles, but alas, Yuzanso seems to reserve that for special guests only. almost gave a good review, but just couldn’t.

The private open-air bath offers stunning views of Lake Biwa, adding a luxurious touch to the experience. The staff were friendly, making us feel welcome with their excellent service.

Dinner was a timed ticket affair, which felt a bit stressful to navigate. Room service only began after 8 pm, adding an unexpected delay to our dining plans.

The location felt isolated without easy access to activities nearby!!! Check-in was frustratingly strict at 3 PM despite room readiness!!! The public onsen hours are inconveniently limited!!! A clearer guide for the shuttle service would be ideal!!!

stayed in a Superior Japanese-Style Room with an open-air bath. loved the view of lake biwa! room had air conditioning, flat-screen TV, and a private bathroom with all the toiletries. the open-air bath was a highlight, super relaxing. food was amazing, spacious onsen facilities made it a great experience!

We stayed one night, a Ryokan was something new for us. Our suite had this breathtaking view of the lake, and the open-air bath was so nice, an unforgettable experience. The staff were incredibly friendly, they even picked us up from the train station quickly after a long day. Plus, unlimited snacks and drinks made us feel special. It was a real treat to unwind here.

Yeah it wasn’t cheap but worth the splurge for the experience we got.

Just a great match for a fleeting trip in Otsu with value for money. The staff prepared an English guide for using the hot spring, which made it easy and enjoyable. Try to catch the sunrise at the hot spring for a unique experience.

However, the whole 'spa experience' turned into a comedy when we found dinner was a timed ticket thing and room service didn’t start serving until after 8pm! Who knew planning a meal could feel like playing a game of charades?

The private onsen views were stunning and the halal meals were fantastic! However, breakfast being served so early was a bit inconvenient. I'd definitely come back!
