We had an enjoyable beach getaway with plenty of activities right in front of us and being within walking distance of the Batu Feringgi night market. The pool was clean and spacious and there were many lawn chairs facing the beautiful beach. We were impressed with the efforts of the hotel providing glass bottles for drinking water, which was a nice touch.

The hotel decor is dated and staff could be more attentive.

As youngsters, we loved the combination of beach, pools, and activities at Golden Sands. The staff were super friendly and helpful. Highly recommend a day at "Escape" amusement park and dinner at the neighboring Shangri-La resort.

The hotel offers great value for money with its prime location right on the beach and near restaurants and the night market. The staff is friendly and the rooms, especially on the higher floors, are well-equipped with good facilities and mountain-facing balconies. Breakfast provides guests with endless varieties of delicious food options to choose from.

The hotel could improve on its cleanliness.

Fantastic location near night market and amenities like McDonald's and hawker food centre. Hotel has excellent pool, water park, and indoor soft play area. Rooms are comfortable, though a bit dated. Grounds are well-maintained. Breakfast offers a wide selection. Free shuttle bus to Georgetown is a bonus. Penang island is beautiful with friendly locals. I highly recommend this hotel for a relaxing trip.

The pool area was fantastic, my kids loved it and we spent many hours there. The location was also great, with plenty of restaurants and shops within walking distance. I enjoyed my stay at this hotel and would recommend it.

I recently stayed at Golden Sand Shangri-La in Penang for a week-long vacation. The variety of breakfast options kept me happy and satisfied throughout my stay. The comfortable rooms with sea views were a delight, and the mini waterpark with slides and a whirlpool added a fun element to the stay. The hotel's strategic location near convenience shops, petrol stations, and McDonald's was a big plus. The breakfast selections, child-friendly facilities, clean pool, fluffy and clean bed and pillows, prompt room service. I especially loved the tasty food at Sigis and the complimentary pizza that encouraged us to have dinner there.

Spacious and clean room with comfortable king bed, and yummy breakfast selection. Friendly and helpful staff throughout the hotel, with lifeguards regularly monitoring the pool area for safety. Enjoyable activities for kids at the kids club, and great amenities including a nice pool and beach area. Lovely view from the room and Sigi's Bar & Grill with delicious food. a highly recommended family-friendly getaway location.

We spent our Christmas holidays in a hotel in Penang and overall had a good experience. We particularly liked the complementary Christmas dinner and festive activities offered by the hotel. the location of the hotel was also great, close to the beach and with easy access to local restaurants and attractions. Lastly, we really enjoyed the well-maintained swimming pool and the friendly staff who were always happy to assist us.

The rooms and facilities looked a bit old and in need of an update. while we had a good time, we found the price we paid to be a bit too high for the outdated facilities and noise issues.

We had a lovely stay at this venue. The location is great, with attractive gardens practically in the centre, and right by the beach. The service was excellent, with room service, car hire, and a helpful bell staff/porter. The room was well-equipped, with nice amenities such as tea and coffee facilities, a mini-bar, and a safe. The restaurant had delicious halal food, and the staff at the check-in counter were very friendly, especially Alex who provided excellent service.

This hotel is highly recommended for families.

The private beach was clean and beautiful, perfect for relaxing and enjoying the sun. the pool was also great, especially for kids, with plenty of activities and a kids' play area. the Adventure Zone was a hit with the young ones, providing entertainment and fun activities.

The rooms definitely need an upgrade, as they were smaller compared to other resorts in the area. the egg bar during breakfast was a mess, with a long queue and no ready-cooked eggs available.
