We had a lovely stay at this beachfront resort. the overall scenery was beautiful, especially the beach view. the staff were helpful and friendly, and the room was comfortable. We even received a complimentary slice of chocolate cake for my early birthday celebration, which was a nice surprise. the teppanyaki restaurant had delicious food, although we were expecting more of the fun "set things on fire" elements that we've experienced at other teppanyaki places. Nonetheless, it was a great experience at this Shangri-La property.

You can enjoy the serenity of the jungle setting while still being close to the city center and other sightseeing places. The rooms are spacious and cleaned daily, providing a comfortable and relaxing stay. The staff is friendly and goes above and beyond to ensure your needs are met. The breakfast buffet offers a wide variety of delicious options to start your day off right. The facilities, such as the pool and beach, provide ample opportunities for relaxation and enjoyment.

The entertainment in the evening could benefit from more variety, as the same band plays middle of the road music six nights a week, which can become monotonous.

The staff at Shangri-La went above and beyond to make our stay memorable. They surprised us with rose petals on our bed, making it a special experience. The sunset view from our room was breathtaking, and the breakfast buffet offered an incredible selection of delicious food. Despite a couple of minor inconveniences, the overall experience was fantastic. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

As youngsters, we absolutely loved our stay at this fantastic hotel! The spacious and comfortable rooms with wonderful beach and sea views were perfect for us. The daily room service kept everything clean and stocked up. The highlight was definitely the bath on the balcony filled with rose petals, such a romantic touch. The beach was amazing, private, and clean, and we even got to gallop on the sand and ride horses into the sea. The staff were the friendliest we've ever encountered, always going above and beyond to make us feel special. The gym was sufficient for our fitness needs and the swimming pools and jacuzzi were clean and relaxing. We also had the opportunity to visit the orangutan and sun bear sanctuary in Sepilok, which was a truly memorable experience. it was a fantastic holiday with unforgettable moments.

Breakfast lacked variety and healthy options.

The breakfast selection was great, with a variety of food options to choose from. the location was ideal, close to the beach and accessible to tours. the free airport pick-up was a nice touch.

The smoking policy was a real negative. Smoking was allowed at the pool and bars, which made it unpleasant for non-smokers.

This hotel is the epitome of luxury, fulfilling all the exclusive amenities needs. the service is exceptional, with friendly and helpful staff. the Spa & wellness centre is an oasis of calm, where you can relax with a full body massage, facial or beauty treatment. the outdoor swimming pool is stunning, with sun loungers, beach umbrellas, and a sun terrace, all overlooking the mesmerizing ocean. the restaurant provides a variety of delicious options for breakfast, dinner, and special diets.

The only minor issue we found was with the Sauna, which was not working on our visit. this did not detract from the overall experience, as there were plenty of other activities to enjoy, such as beach access, body scrub, foot massage.
