I recently stayed at Iguana Hostel in Oaxaca for a few nights. From the moment I arrived, I felt right at home and warmly welcomed. The dorms were designed in a way that provided privacy, and I slept incredibly well. The sociable rooftop bar was a delightful spot to unwind, but the real highlight was Rocko, the friendly four-legged "owner." The staff went above and beyond to assist with any information or tours we needed. The location was also excellent, and the atmosphere was perfect with friendly people and a great balance between partying and tranquility. this has been my favorite hostel experience in Mexico so far.

Iguana Hostel offers great coffee and has universal plugs, which is so convenient for travelers. the hostel has a laid-back atmosphere with plenty of spaces to hang out, including a rooftop bar with hammocks. the kitchen is well-equipped for cooking, and the breakfast provided is delicious. the staff are friendly and always ready to help, offering useful information and even giving us a little tour. the dorms are spacious and provide personal space with curtains separating each bed. We also enjoyed the social atmosphere and met interesting people at the rooftop bar and in the kitchen. the hostel's location is perfect, close to everything we wanted to explore. this has been our favorite hostel in Mexico so far.

I had such an amazing time at this hostel in Oaxaca! the dorms were spacious and had plenty of privacy, with lots of storage space for all my belongings. the bar was a great place to meet people, and I always found someone to go out with for sightseeing, dinner, or a party. the daily Mexican/Oaxacan breakfast was delicious and different every day. the curfew at 23h was strictly enforced, so I could sleep peacefully. the common areas were also very spacious and comfortable. the staff and guests were friendly, creating a happy atmosphere. I had a great experience at Iguana Hostel.

iguana hostel in oaxaca exceeded my expectations with its amazing rooftop, friendly staff, and great breakfast conversations. it truly felt like a treehouse from childhood with the rooftop hammocks and had a perfect location near the city centre. highly recommended!

shower heads and pressure need updating

I had a wonderful time at Iguana Hostel. The central courtyard was a fantastic spot to relax and meet other travelers. I loved sitting on the padded mats and cushions, it felt so comfortable and inviting. The rooftop bar was also a highlight, with everyone sitting together and creating a friendly atmosphere. The beds were comfortable and having a light and plug socket at each one was very convenient. Plus, the location was great, close to the town center but without the noise. I highly recommend this hostel.

One of the highlights of my stay was celebrating my birthday there - it was a wild night filled with cake and nonstop dancing. This hostel truly offers an unforgettable experience for travelers.

the staff at Iguana Hostel were very chilled out, friendly, and flexible. They even let me keep my belongings and use the showers and common areas after I checked out, as I had a night bus to catch. the beds were comfortable and set up in a way that felt private. the location of the hostel was perfect, and I loved the friendly atmosphere. it was a convenient and comfortable place to stay in Oaxaca.
