The friendly atmosphere at Backpackers made it easy to meet other travelers. We found partners for hiking and made lifelong friends. The social aspect of the hostel was fantastic. The private room we stayed in was spacious and clean, with a comfortable bed and soft comforter. Despite being located on a side street, the hostel was still within walking distance of the busy areas of Lakeside. We enjoyed the peace and quiet, even during busy times at the Corner Pub downstairs. The breakfast provided each day was outstanding, with different options that were always tasty. The staff at Backpackers were incredibly kind and understanding, always going above and beyond to ensure our needs were met. They even helped me extend my stay when I needed extra rest. I had a wonderful experience at Backpackers and would highly recommend it.

While the activities and tours offered by the hostel were good, there may be better options in town for those looking for the best deals and prices. Additionally, some of the power sockets in the room were not functional, which was a minor inconvenience.

I stayed in the family room and it was perfect for our needs. We enjoyed it so much that we even booked it again after our hike. I highly recommend this hostel, especially for solo travelers.

They also offered free bag storage for guests returning from a trek. This hostel is definitely the best value for money and I will definitely be coming back!

The laundry service was also good. Meeting people was easy, thanks to the kind and helpful owner. The common area had nice seats and good wifi, making it a great place to socialize. I was pleasantly surprised by the included breakfast, which had a different menu every day. The rooms were clean and overall, I would definitely recommend this hostel.
